Hey, everyone!

So, it's only taken me three-ish years to finally be ready to publish this book lmao

So, it's only taken me three-ish years to finally be ready to publish this book lmao. I have been on and off writing this since I finished my Lexa fan fiction, which as you all know, was a long time ago lol. If you have stuck with me that long, you're actually amazing, and if you're new, hello! Hope you like my stuff 😊

So, before you delve in, I wanted to say a few things that, well, it's up to you whether you want to read or not. But basically, this was initially going to be a first person, Alicia x you book (since there's barely any out there and Alicia Clark deserves some love, too).

I mean, just look at her 😍🥰

However, it turned into a third person girl x girl book because I wanted to experiment with writing that way and using an actual own character which has development. As you can probably see by the cover, Naomi Scott is my face claim just because I'm literally in love with her and she was the first person I thought to use before I actually even created a personality for her character 'Kamille'.

Naomi in a suit?? Yes, please 😅

Which, speaking of Kamille, she is a character I'm lowkey proud of because I feel that I've established and developed her character quite well throughout the book (to say it's my first time doing so compared to character x you stuff I've written in the past).

I realised when reading some of my old stuff (which is super cringe when you go waaaaay back lmao), that even when writing 'you' stories, I would write it as if I was a White American teenager rather than who I actually am or as an ethnically-ambiguous character that everyone can relate to. And I was doing that because I was writing what I had seen others do, or what I had read or watched in girlxgirl pop culture/literature.

So, with that in mind, I decided to write Kamille with the same characteristics as myself: a British Pakistani Muslim gay girl. And I decided to do that in a way that it doesn't take over the story nor define her character like most shows/books do when trying to be diverse, it's simply apart of the story, how it should be.

I hope this doesn't deter you guys from reading – it's honestly not even a big part of the story, it's just there so that people like me don't have to feel like there's nothing out there for them.

Also, I forgot to say that in terms of plot, there have been some minor alterations to the original series, such as extended time or additional scenes/lack of scenes. It should make sense when reading though 👍🏼

Anyway, as a last point, there is a warning I want to put for readers: the book will include mature themes, such as death, suicide, depression, grief and arguably some horror elements, thought that's mostly when mentioning the infected. Read at your own discretion.

That's it from me now, I hope you guys like it!
