Braeyln's POV
As I put on my red dress; I thought about yesterday. After Ridge's wife unexpectedly came to the mall. They decided to part and with that we decided to leave as well. I knew something was up because this all couldn't be a coincidence. He had something to do with my past and I was so sure of it.

I don't remember my past because I was traumatized and I ended up in the hospital. This was another reason as to why I didn't want to remember my past. It bothered me but why would I have wanted to remember something that hurt me.

That's why I told Lee and Grady not to tell me and that I was better off without it. Now I can't let it go. I wanted to remember even if it hurt me because even if I don't want to admit it. A part of my life is gone and I hate the feeling empty.

But why would he ignore me then? From my memory, it didn't seem like he was just an acquaintance or a friend but something more. I wanted to think this was just a coincidence but there are way too many red flags. I knew that if I asked him right away he wouldn't tell me. He'd think I'm crazy or probably deny it. I needed to catch him so that I could bring it up but I didn't know how to.

I touched my makeup, walked down the stairs. The girls were waiting for me. We walked out of the house and went to the party. I was going to find out one way or another. I gave them a smile and we made our way to the car.

*~*

The hall is beautiful. This party must be legit because there were so many people there. He said that the party was because of their deal that had passed. I walked inside the hall and looked around trying to find him.

"Who are you looking for?" Julie asked.

My eyes widened but I shrugged it off and said, "I'm looking for our table." They both nodded and I let out a sigh in relief.

Wait, why am I feeling guilty about looking for him? He's my boss and I'm his secretary. I mean they don't know about my little crush for him, but that's beside the point.

I held onto my bag tightly and Jake walked towards us, "Well hello there beautiful ladies." We muttered hello and his eyes met mine and he smiled mischievously. Whenever he smiles he's normally up to no good. I narrowed my eyes at him and he raised his eyebrows at me. He whispered something against Ronnie's ear making her smile.

"Braelyn, my love, you look gorgeous tonight. Ronnie, here told me that you're single. I have a friend who seems to fancy you," Jake said while smiling. Right then Ridge walked towards us. He was wearing a tight red shirt with a couple of his buttons opened with white pants. He looked gorgeous as always, is he trying to kill me? Jake noticed my reaction and I quickly brushed it away.

"Don't you agree, Ridge? I mean someone as beautiful as you should have a boyfriend don't you think?" Jake asked as he looked at Ridge. I furrowed my eyebrows, was he expecting a reaction out of him? But he supposedly has a wife. I remember him saying that he had a fiance, could it be a lie? If it was then who is she to him? There are so many unanswered questions, which is making me crazy.

"Sure," Ridge muttered. I noticed that he held his hands against the glass tightly. It looked like he was about to break the glass any moment now. I decided to play along with Jake to see if what I was thinking is right.

"I mean, I have been feeling lonely lately meeting someone wouldn't hurt," I said while staring at Ridge. His hand against the glass tightened, he clenched his jaw, and his eyes that were staring at something were finally against my eyes. I smiled and diverted my attention to Jake, well, I didn't expect that to happen.

"What's his name? And is he here at the party?" I asked and Jake laughed.

"Trust me you're going to love him. He's a great guy, all the ladies like him but he isn't interested in them. I'm surprised he broke out of his shell and wanted to know who you were. Yes, he's at the party and I think he should introduce himself to you first," Jake said while looking at Ridge. Is he talking about him?

"I can't wait to meet him, never been so exc-" I stopped when I noticed broken glass on the floor. I looked at Ridge's hand and then at his face. His jaw is clenched tightly and I tried so hard not to smile brightly. I took a step forward and grabbed his hand lightly and examined it.
"I'll go get the first aid kit," Jake said and with that he left. I looked at Ridge and stared at him carefully.

"Are you mad or upset with someone?" I asked and he looked at me curiously and muttered, "No." I let out a small chuckle and nodded.

"Are you sure?" I asked.
"What makes you think that I'm angry?" he asked.
"I mean, you broke this glass," I said. He said, "Okay and?" I let out a laugh and nodded so he's going to play dumb with me.

"So you think that's normal?" I asked and he didn't say anything. I looked back at his hand and noticed his ring wasn't there.

"Where's your wife?" I asked and he narrowed his eyes at me.
"Fiance," he said and looked away. He seemed nervous for some reason.
"You mean wife, the last time you introduced her as your wife," I said and he let out a nervous laugh.

"Same thing," he said. I grabbed his hand and pulled it up and asked, "Then where is your ring?" He grabbed his hand back and didn't say anything.

Gotcha. I wondered why he said that he's with her because he's lying. He looked at me and then at my friends uncomfortably, he's probably trying to come up with an excuse. I knew what I had to do now, although, I might be acting out of character but I had to find out the truth.

"Katherine I think you should help him out after all you are his wife. Wait, I mean fiance, actually I mean girlfriend. Honestly, I don't know who you are but you should help him. He could use the extra hand."
