I kept the water bottle ready in my left hand, uncorked, and stared maliciously at the small white tablet on my outstretched palm.

"Are you waiting for the tablet to grow into a beanstalk?" Akanksha asked interestedly, looking at me in an amused manner.

I closed my palm sighing, "I don't want to eat this, " I said, giving the little drug a bitter look. My nose scrunched in displeasure at the very thought of eating it.

I had been eating this tablet for the past three days now, and I dreaded as the time of meals arrived; when I was forced to consume it once again.

The first time I had eaten this tablet, I had to spit the pill as soon as revolting taste entered my tongue and had to drink so much water; enough to sustain and keep my body hydrated for two whole days.

The tablet had not been particularly helpful; on the contrary, I still got headaches at a regular frequency. The most recent being today morning; after Di left.

Back to the malicious tablets; I felt preposterously happy when I thought about the dosages getting over tonight.  I would be getting rid of these horrible and revolting tablets tomorrow. I would go to Dr Mathew's clinic and report my observations and ask for his advice.

"You're suffocating the poor tablet," Akanksha reminded me, and I instantly opened my palm. She was correct; but unfortunately, it didn't die or disappear.  It continued to sit there; white and small, equally wicked and malicious.

"You're seriously acting like a small child now, " she chided, and I glared at her. She merely maintained a bemused look and gave a nonchalant shrug.

"Come on; it's just a tablet! It'll hardly take a second! Just go for it, " Akanksha encouraged, and I nodded.

I brought the water bottle close to my lips, and the outstretched palm even closer. In a second; I put the tablet inside and instantly rush down the water. I sense the water attempt to neutralise the revolting taste, but unfortunately, I do happen to taste the disgusting tablet.

I snap my eyes shut, making weird faces, as the feeling steadily descended my taste buds; making me almost want to vomit till the tablet comes out from my stomach!

Akanksha looked like she wanted to laugh but managed to keep an expressionless and a neutralised face. Good for her; I fretted to myself. I was on the verge of murdering anyone now; thanks to the little drug.

I patted my open hair, checking my reflection in the mirror. I straightened the cresses of my sky-blue top and smoothened the jeans. I pull my ID card down, once, and pat it. And then, once again, I arrange my hair, bringing it down my shoulders. My hands automatically reach the simple jade earrings to check if they were tight enough.

My mobile rings and I smile triumphantly as I receive it;

"Hello?"

"They say Disneyland is the happiest place on earth. Well apparently, no one has ever been standing next to you." A deep voice greeted me from the other end.

"Eww! That's too cliche, Sahil!" I laughed,

"Okay..." He trailed away and added, "  Are you a dictionary? Cause you’re adding meaning to my life."
