28: Tricked

I open my eyes wildly and see...

Nothing.

I hear a slight groan and steps again.

I want to sigh deeply.
Or cry.
I would be lying if I said I'm not afraid.
Because I am.

I don't want to keep playing...

Suddenly, the silence is ripped again.
Someone just landed near here. Wait... landed?
Louder steps come this way.

"Oh.... she's hiding? Don't even try it human... I'm going to find you..." that's a new voice.
Which isn't actually 'new'...

Megatron.

I remember Chicago...
I could run somewhere... but here... there is no scape...
There is no scape.
There is no scape.
My eyes start getting washed in tears.

"There's always a way Cael"
The voice of my dad fills my mind.

"Everything's about the way you look at things"
Now Optimus it's in my head.

There's always a way..... it just depends in the way you look at things.

Up.
Down.
Right.
Left.
Back.. back...

My backpack!
I know, I shouldn't take this so literal but it's working...
I open it as silently as I can and look inside it.
I smile.

This might help.

I place the projector of the hologram on the floor. I made two of them of course.
The first one I left it at the Decepticon Base.

I grab something else. Something Hide gave me.
Okay.

Game over.

Narrator's POV:

Megatron is looking around, trying to find the human.
She won't trick him again.

"Come on human, you have no opportunity" he says. "There's no way you can get out of this..."

"There's always a way..."
He turns to the place where the little voice is coming.
"Everything depends in the way you look at things"
The human girl is standing confidently and courageous in front of the bunch of rocks.

Megatron's about to take her when at the corner of his optic, he sees another form running.

"Oh you won't trick my again!" He grabs the running girl and as he turns the hologram is gone. Damn it.

Suddenly two egg-shaped things roll through his feet.

"You sure about that?!"

He looks at his hand and the girl smiles.

The grenades explode.

Caelyn's POV:

I tricked you again.

I'm hiding in the cave now. There is a little hole near where I was hiding before where I can fit and that's how I entered to the cave before the grenades explode.

Yes, I was the first one to talk.
And the one running...
Was the hologram.

Thanks God it tricked him.

The grenades aren't the common ones, it's a weird gas that shuts down Cybertronian's nervous system.
Thanks Ironhide!!
If I used the regular grenades I would destroy the forest... I think there's enough destruction already...

I wait to hear...
'Clonk!!'
That.

I get out of the cave and look at the cons lying on the ground.
Then...

One.

Two..

Three...

Three shots in the distance.

Thank Goodness!!!

I'd better start going before they're able to move again.
I start running back to the Base as fast as I can.

"Caelyn!!" Someone shouts.

I don't stop running but I see how a black truck comes my way and stops in front of me.
Ironhide!
As he opens the door I hop inside.
Then, other vehicles start coming and transforming.

"Caelyn! No!" Hide says as he runs towards Ironhide and me.
Wait, what?!

Instantly metal tentacles wrap around me, immobilising every move I want to make.

"Hide!!" I scream in horror as the grip around me tightens up.

From behind the real Ironhide come Bee, Optimus and other Autobots I recognise as Sideswipe and Dino.
Optimus transforms and looks at me.

"Free the human, now" he orders.

"Catch me first" the con I'm in says as he starts driving away.

"NO!" I scream.

The bots start shooting at us as we go faster.
I hear that sound.

"Autobots! Do not hurt Caelyn!" Optimus orders.
Shots start hitting ground and trees around us as the con drives.

Then a greenish blue whirl appears some meters in front of us. My eyes get wide. It's a... portal?
No...A Ground Bridge.

I look at the driving mirror and see Optimus running behind us and Bee half-transformed (in his car form but with his cannons activated).
I look at Optimus optics and I feel he sees me too...

And we go through the ground bridge...
The last I hear is Optimus...

"NO!!"
