Draco's pov

As I heard the bell ring, I knew it was Ava. She told me she was coming back. And from the moment she did, I have been counting the hours to her arrival.

I was angry at her for leaving me like this. And the fact that she was with Adam should've angered me more. But the way she sounded so broken in the phone, I couldn't help but forget about my anger. I was worried for her. And I was scared to know what Adam had done to cause her so much pain. Once more

I immediately went to the door to open it. And when I did, my breathe hitched. Her eyes were puffy and red from hours of crying. But yet she looked just as beautiful as the first time I saw her, in that ball.

She didn't say a single word. She just threw her arms around me as she engulfed me in a hug. And then she started sobbing

My heart hurt seeing her this way. I wrapped my arms around her as I placed a kiss on my forehead

After that, I slowly moved back so that I could have a better look at her face. Cupping her cheeks in my hand, I tilted her face up

"Love, you are home now. You don't have to cry anymore"

"I...I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry for leaving you this way. I'm so sorry for hurting you."

"Shh. Come inside. You don't have to apologise"

As we walked inside, immediately Lia ran to us and hugged Ava with all her might

"Momma. You are back"

At this, she started crying more. She hugged Lia and started apologising to her too.

Seeing her so weak and fragile, I wanted to take all her pain away. Although I had accepted the fact that we won't have any sort of romantic connection between us, I still loved her with all my heart.

"Princess," I called Lia,"Momma is tired after the journey. You go play okay. Let momma rest for a while"

I expected some sort of protest from Lia's side, but she just nodded enthusiastically as she went to play. But before going, she kissed Ava's cheeks, saying she loved her.

After she left, we both walked into our room.

I knew I should be giving her some space, but I couldn't help asking her what happened. I wanted to know the source of her pain and I wanted to take that pain away

"Love, can you...can you please say what happened? Please"

Tears rolled down her cheeks but she still nodded.

"I..I was with Adam. All this time. And Adam was right. I am...I was his wife. Sabrina"

My heart started hammering against my chest as she said that. Whatever she said was everything I already knew. But I never wanted her to find out

"I wanted to know about my past. And that's why I was with him"

"And did you find out what you wanted to know?"

"Yes."

"And do you want to talk to me about it? It's okay if you are not ready"

"No. I...I want to say it all"

And after that she did. She told me everything about her former life that I did not know about. She told me that she loved Adam her entire life. She told me how her parents neglected her. And then she told me about her child.

"Child?"

"Hope. My daughter. I had a daughter with him"

The mention of her daughter scared me. If she had a child...that meant she would leave my Lia. And she would leave me
