"Cheer up Piccolina."

Leo held her hand as gentle as he could, almost afraid that those small bones of her would break. It was a riveting feeling to have her hand in his again. That smooth skin of hers never failed to make his own shiver.

It was quite the endearing moment, but of course it didn't last long. Carmin wouldn't dare let it.

"Idiot." She hissed at him, shuffling her chair over.

"You..." He bit his lip and spoke again after they had detached from each other. "Aren't you too old to be getting kisses from your brother?"

That was interesting coming from Leo, who still greeted his sister with a swift kiss on the cheek. Relative or not, looks like it didn't take much for Carmin to spark jealousy within Leo.

"Mind your own business." Carmin grunted.

"You shouldn't bring your business into the classroom." Leo grunted back.

"You shouldn't touch me without permission."

"Touching goes without saying if it's with friends."

"I'm not your friend."

"Say that again, and I will airdrop these photos."

"Great." Carmin glared at him. "Then I won't have to go to the engagement party."

Leo glared back just as hard, hating her use of logic. The angry dope laid his head back against the desk, not wanting to talk anymore. He coddled his hand that still lingered with the feel of Carmin, and sulked.

"Carmin!"

Dr. Jones called the name of the unresponsive girl for the fourth time in thirty seconds.

"H-huh?" She jumped a bit after hearing her name being called so loudly.

"I asked about your day?" He repeated. "Nic called me and said that Josh left early, and that you might be crankier than usual..."

"How much longer do we have in this session?"

Carmin rubbed the back of her neck, inwardly embarrassed for thinking about Leo so hard, that she couldn't seem to focus. Their little moment of hand holding just refused to leave her mind, and she hated both him and herself for it. All her plots to get out of the engagement party had been pushed further and further into the back of her mind, as thoughts of Leo's heavy hand neared closer to the front.

"Five minutes." Dr. Jones pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "More than enough time to talk."

"What do you know, Wyatt?" Carmin sighed as that knowing smile she hated curled around his lips.

"It's Dr. Jones to you."He corrected her before saying,"I know about the engagement party."

"Don't ask me about it." She spat at him, though she knew he would.

"I just want to understand why you would agree. Just answer me that one question."

"I owe him money. It's the only way I can repay my debt."

"Why did you need to borrow money from him?"

"Lunch."

"You don't eat lunch at school."

"Yes I do." Carmin lied.

Dr. Jones leaned slowly leaned back in his seat, and crossed his legs. He narrowed his eyes at Carmin, silently telling her that he didn't buy the lie not one bit.
