Y/n had asked Hermione for help with trying to find who Tom Riddle was. Since Hermione was the only person who read as much as Y/n, she figured she was the best choice.

They walked towards the library, trying to be as quick as possible, since curfew was in an hour. They looked in ever book shelf, trying to find anything about old students of Hogwarts. But they didn't find a single thing about Tom Riddle.

"Why don't you just ask Dumbledore? I think he'd know more about who this boy you're looking for is." Hermione told Y/n, but she shook her head. "Won't it be a bit weird? Me asking about someone I've never met?" Hermione shrugged her shoulders, "Just keep Dumbledore in mind if we don't find anything."

The two girls sighed, after about 45 minutes of looking, they did not find a thing. Y/n thanked Hermione for her help, as both girls walked towards their common rooms.

"Serpent." Y/n mumbled at the painting and it opened. She looked around the common room looking for her friends or Draco, but to her surprise they weren't there. Probably in their rooms, she thought since it was curfew.

She entered her room seeing her two friends asleep. She went towards her pillow grabbing the journal. Maybe if I read these dreams I've been having about Tom, I could know more about him?

She opened the book, but saw it was completely blank. Her eyes widened, did someone erase my writing?

She looked through every page seeing a blank canvas, what in Merlins name is going on? Why would Pansy or Daphne read my journal?

She closed the book, looking at her two best friends again. Y/n knew deep down inside they would never look through her things. She grabbed a quill from her desk and began to write on the journal again.

Who in Salazar's name erased my dreams? She wrote down, but it quickly disappeared making her look around the room. No one, the book wrote back. Y/n sat on her bed, looking at the book. A million questions raced into her mind. Who are you? And why have you casted a spell on my journal? Y/n wrote down. She grabbed her wand, ready for anyone to appear. This isn't your journal. This journal belongs to me. Y/n furrowed her eyebrows, she had never been more confused in her life. Why would the journal belong to someone else, if Y/n was the rightful owner. She looked at the inside of the journal seeing the initials. Tom Riddle? She wrote down again, eagerly waiting for the books reply. Indeed, Tom wrote back.

Y/n quickly closed the book thinking it was impossible for someone to be in a book. It's probably a stupid prank, Y/n thought to herself. Sighing and not thinking much about it, she placed the journal back under her pillow.

"Why are you lying to me?" Y/n asked Tom. "I don't lie." He simply said. "You told me my mother died? I know that's not true because both my parents are alive." Y/n looked at Tom, "What aren't you telling me?" She asked annoyingly. Tom smirked, "For such a wise witch, you're being pretty stupid right now." Y/n stood there dumbfounded, she had no idea what Tom was talking about. She didn't even know who he was, so the chances of him lying were not small. "What do you want from me? You're in my dreams and now you say you're in my journal?" Y/n asked him, but Tom looked at her emotionless. "You'll know what I want soon."

"Y/n wake up! You're going to miss breakfast!" Pansy shook Y/n trying to wake her up. Y/n's eyes shot open, "Bloody hell what time is it?" Pansy chuckled, "You have 20 minutes to eat, hurry up! You don't want to be late for potions."

Y/n jumped out of her bed, getting ready as quick as possible. She ran out of the dungeons and into the Great Hall, getting a piece of toast with jam and pumpkin juice. She had 5 minutes to get to Potions. She grabbed her bag and ran to Snape's classroom, hoping she had a few minutes to spare.

She entered the room seeing all students, but Snape. Sighing in relief she sat by Draco. "Didn't wake up early today?" He smirked. Y/n shook her head, trying to hide the hint of red in her cheeks. "Was it you? Who pulled that prank on my journal?" Draco looked at Y/n with a raised eyebrow, "What are you talking about?" "Never mind." Y/n sighed.

She took out her potions textbook and waited for class to begin. Through the class all Y/n could think about was Tom Riddle. What did he want with her? And why was he appearing everywhere? It was odd for Y/n to be having such vivid dreams, especially over a boy she had never seen.

"Y/n?" Draco asked making her shake from her thoughts. "Huh?" She asked. Draco chuckled, "Potions is over, we have another class. Why aren't you packed up?" Y/n looked around the room seeing it was rather empty. "Sorry I was just thinking." She mumbled as she put her book away. Both of them walked out of class and into the forest with Hagrid. She sat in the shade with the group, as they watched other students listen to the lesson.

"Psst, Y/n!" Hermione whispered-yelled. Y/n looked up waiting for her to continue. "Did you find anything else on you-know-who?" Y/n glanced at Draco for a brief second, knowing he was hearing. "I'll be right back." She told her friends. Y/n got up, taking Hermione a bit backer where no one could hear them, but still be seen. "No I haven't, I think I'm just going to give up. He was probably some random student." Y/n lied and Hermione shrugged. "If you ever need anymore help, let me know." She smiled as she went back to Harry and Ron. Y/n nodded as she sat back down with her Slytherin friends.

"What were you guys talking about?" Draco asked and Y/n shook her head. "It was nothing."

Draco raised his eyebrow slightly, knowing Y/n was lying to him. He didn't want to come off as an obsessed boyfriend, so instead he just let it go.

After many classes Y/n went back into her room, getting the journal. "Where are you going?" Draco asked her as she reached the common room door. "I'm gonna go study in the library." She lied. "I'll go with you." He said as he grabbed his bag. "No, it's fine I'm only going for a few minutes, I'll see you later." Draco frowned slightly, but nodded. He watched as Y/n left the common room.

Where was she really going? And why was she lying so much? A part of him wanted to follow her, but he knew Y/n liked her space. He also knew Y/n would never betray his trust. So instead, he sat back down with his friends continuing the conversation they previously had.

Y/n went towards the back of the library, where people couldn't see her. She opened the journal and grabbed her quill.

Hello Tom, she wrote down. Hello Y/n, Tom wrote back. I have a few questions, she told the journal. Inside the book Tom smirked, Ask away. Y/n sighed in relief, How do you know so much about me? Are you the same Tom I see in my dreams? Tom chuckled as he began to write down his answers, I can't tell you why I know you, just yet. And yes I am, sort of. It's me in my 16 year old form. Y/n raised both her eyebrows, Is what you said about my mother true? For a brief moment Tom frowned slightly, but he quickly replaced it with no emotion, Sadly, yes. Y/n's eyes slowly began to water, So what you're saying is my real mother is dead? Tom's nostrils flared a bit, Yes, I wasn't suppose to be the person to tell you. I believe you should ask your parents about who you truly are.

With that, Y/n closed the journal. A few tears escaped her eyes. Her whole life has been a lie. And she found out by a boy in a journal? She needed answers immediately. She took out a piece of parchment paper to write to her parents, wanting to know the truth.
