Asleep

Tyler jumped when he heard his tent zipping open. He reached his hand over for one of his crutches just in case he had to wack the intruder, and then his other hand on Rosie, who was sleeping in one of those small nest shaped cots that Hayley offered for him. He relaxed once he saw Hayley's face.

"What are you doing? I could've killed you." He whispered shouted, and she smiled, shaking her head in disbelief.

"Do you want to see your wife?" She asked as if she didn't know the answer, when she very well did.

Tyler nodded as he sat up, creating a carrier around his neck for Rosie, and carefully placing her inside. Rosie let out a small tired moan before stretching and burying herself into Tyler's warm chest.

It was cold at night, and he didn't want Rosie freezing. He hugged his jacket against her as he scooted out of the tent where Hayley was waiting patiently.

Hayley waved for him to follow her, walking towards the caves where Tyler assumed Jenna was.

It was so cold you could see your own breath. Tyler hoped they gave Jenna her jacket back. When they were found she was in a tank top from sweating so much during birth. She had to remove her clothing.

As they entered the cave, it began to get slightly warmer and there were lanterns lighting up the back of the cave.

Once you entered the cave, to the right of you was a steep rocky slope that traveled up to another entrance to the cave up the mountain.

As they approached the back of the cave, a cell was made into the mountain on the right. Tyler's heart jumped when he saw Jenna sitting on the ground with her knees up and her chin placed on top. She was currently staring into space, slowly closing her eyes every once and a while.

She looked tired. "Jenna?" Hayley called and Tyler silently cursed at her action. He wanted to be the one to call out to her. To be her knight in shining armor, no matter how unrealistic that truly was.

Jenna looked up at Hayley, shaking her head. "I didn't fucking do it." She snapped quietly, leaning her forehead on her knees to hide her face.

Rosie let out a small noise, and it echoed through the caves. Jenna immediately jolted her head up, staring at Tyler for a few seconds. Rosie let out another sound except louder, as if trying to get Tyler's attention.

"Aw man." Tyler looked down at her, and that's when Rosie began to cry.

Jenna crawled over to the bars, holding out her hand to hold Rosie. "Has she eaten? Oh my god." Although she was happy to see Tyler, her first thought was making sure Rosie was okay.

Tyler didn't hesitate to get down on the ground, closer to Jenna. "She has. Hayley hooked me up with some formula. I wasn't going to give it to her because I wasn't sure what was in it. But she was crying, and I didn't want her to starve."

Jenna let out a sigh of relief. "Will you tell her to get me out of here so I can feed her?"

"I'm sorry, ma'am, I can't." Hayley spoke up, and Tyler sighed, turning to face Hayley.

"Okay, then let me in there. C'mon, Hal." Tyler insisted, looking at her pleadingly. Jenna furrowed her eyebrows at the nickname. She didn't know they knew each other.

Hayley sighed, nodding her head as she opened the cell door with some keys that were in her pocket. Tyler got up, leaving his crutches on the ground and using the cell bars to make it through the door. Hayley closed it, to avoid Jenna trying to escape.

Jenna took Rosie, lifting her tank top and letting her drink. Rosie was eager for Jenna's warmness just as much as Tyler was.

Tyler smiled, gently lowering himself on the ground. That's when Jenna realized he had some sort of cast on his foot. "Are you okay?" She whispered, trying to keep their conversation private from Hayley. The cave was echoey though, which didn't give them much help.

Tyler nodded, "yeah, I just broke my ankle. It's not that bad."

Jenna let a small sad smile take her face. "They wouldn't tell me where you or Rosie were. I thought you guys got separated and I was scared to death about Rosie."

Tyler scooted closer, adjusting himself behind her so he could press his chest against her. He kissed her shoulder lovingly, leaning his head on her shoulder, his lips so close that they brushed against her ear. "I was trying to get them to take me to you, and I finally convinced Hayley."

"Do you know her?" Jenna whispered, although Hayley heard and her head turned.

Tyler nodded, a small hum escaping his lips. "She used to be apart of Josh and I's friend group when we were like fifteen." He kept the part that they liked each other out of it, because it honestly didn't matter. They were only kids. Jenna hummed and Tyler continued, "Josh is here too. I haven't seen him yet because he's on a food hunt. That's what Hayley says."

"What if he isn't, and she's just trying to keep you here?"

Tyler shook his head, his long floof caressing her cheek. "I trust her."

Jenna turned her head, forcing Tyler to remove his from her shoulder, and looked at him with fear in her eyes. "Has she told you?" Her voice was genuinely curious, although her eyes seemed as though she already knew the answer.

Tyler nodded, he knew she was asking about the reasoning she was in the cell in the first place. "it's okay, I trust you more than her. I don't believe it."

Jenna let out a small huff of relief, and she smiled slightly before pecking his lips. Rosie was asleep now, her cheek rested on Jenna's breast.

"Tyler," Hayley began, stepping closer to the cell now that she was involving herself in the discussion. "We should go now. I don't want them to know you were here."

Tyler immediately kissed Jenna's cheek eagerly, and small pecks down her neck, before turning her head with his hand and landing one on her lips. "Okay, listen, in the morning, Josh should be back from hunting. They're going to have a meeting on what they are going to do with you. Josh knows you, so you don't have to worry about anything happening, okay? I'm going to talk to him." He said it quickly as if it was rehearsed, and Jenna nodded. "I'll bring Rosie back when I can, okay? She needs you."

Jenna nodded, "Okay." They pecked each other's lips on last time before Tyler picked himself up, holding onto the bars and taking Rosie from Jenna.

It didn't take long for Rosie to start crying, and Tyler hugged her close to try and calm her.

Rosie was definitely a mommy's girl.
