Drive

We drove down the roads of forks in our blue c-class Mercedes as i keenly observed the scenery outside. The lush green grass and the rich emerald colour of the tress. I closed my eyes and felt the cool crisp breeze against my face, whipping my dark brown curly hair everywhere. The music from the radio was just a gentle hum in the back as i enjoyed the slight drizzling that had begun. "Well, someone is enjoying the ride." Mandy commented. I smiled at her. Amanda Carrington was my adoptive mother and my best friend. I could tell her anything and everything and i absolutely adored her. Her wavy blond hair were tied in a bun at the nape of her neck, her blue eyes gazed at me questioningly as i playfully complained " I told you to let me drive. Your are going to get a back ache again." She sighed deeply and ignored me, just like she did every time i was right. I laughed to myself as quietly as i could but nothing slips by Mandy and i laughed more when she tried to glare at me while driving.

We arrived at our motel shortly after and sadly the rain had stopped. We could afford to stay in 5-star hotels but i thought that motels were a bit more 'homey', Mandy agreed. I plopped down on the bed and started thinking about how i would spend my day. "Lexi, don't fall asleep because then you will sleep late which means that you will wake up late, and you don't want to be late tomorrow for the meeting." I nodded. The meeting is what we were here for. We had invested in rain water harvesting plants after i suggested it; they were an important way to save water and we also had to invest in order to make our business grow. After my Father died my Grandma requested my dads close and trusted friends Amanda and Richard Carrington to take over and help me grow the business if she was not here and they agreed because they knew my grandma did not have much time left. I knew i should not but i fell i sleep while Mandy talked on the phone and did some paper work.

I woke up and the clock read 9:17. I had slept for about 4 hours and i felt guilty because i did the exact opposite of what Mandy asked. "A very good evening to you, sleeping beauty." She said. I smiled guiltily. "Ordered some food,figured you might be hungry." At the mention of food my stomach growled and i walked to the small coffee table and gobbled down every last bit. I did some reading but i got bored. Then Mandy said "You have had your fair share of sleep, now please let me have mine." "Of course, do you mind if i head down to the beach?" I asked. Mandy may not trust me to drive but she knew that i was very well trained to defend myself if any danger was to come. She gestured for me to go. I smirked at her and said " Maybe ill even go for a swim!" "You don't know how to swim" she stated the most obvious fact. "i know how to drown." I replied sassily. I told her i loved her and closed the door, heading to the LaPush beach.
