Chapter 109: Everything Begins Now

It was already way past night time. Everyone was in bed getting a good nights rest prepared for the days to come. For Mira and the others this isn't there first time having a taste of war but it will be the first time they go to war without the nine all together. For Wendy this would be her first time being involved in something like this. E.N.D made sure of asking his younger sister if she wanted to be involved, he might be the most feared demon but he still cares for his family. Wendy kept telling him that she would be fine, she would stay by her brothers side til the very end. But Natsu still made sure to ask in case she was having second thoughts. He knew his younger sister was more then capable of defending herself, she has the blood of Igneel and Grandine coursing through her veins so she's made tough. But she isn't battle hardened like him or there parents. Even though she's being trained by Irene and him she still has a lot to learn. Being half the age of Natsu helps out a lot. At her age Natsu didn't have anyone to train him or be there to guide him on how to use his powers. She does, Wendy not only had her brother but had Tiamat for a brief while teaching her, had Grayfia as well. Now she has the most powerful dragon teaching her high level enchantments and has her brother to teach her about combat. When she gets to be her brothers age she would have already surpassed him.

E.N.D: only through this war will she learn to hone her skills.

He says to himself looking out at the night lit city of Tokyo. He hears soft footsteps approaching him which causes him to turn around. He sees Irene in her pajamas walking towards him.

Irene: you're still awake?

E.N.D: yeah...I can't sleep.

Irene: are you worried?

E.N.D: A bit, last time war was declared I had the nine with me and I didn't have to worry about Wendy because she was still a baby during that time. So she spent half of her years sleeping.

Irene: you big softy

She playfully punches him on the shoulder.

Irene: she'll be fine. You need to learn to trust her, she won't be little for ever you know. Eventually she'll grow up and take the throne too.

E.N.D: she did take the throne for a few days

Irene: true but that's because we thought you died.

She gets closer to Natsu hugging his arm tightly.

Irene: This time I won't let anything happen to you. We'll face them together.

E.N.D looks at her hearing this, he smiles then turns to face the city again.

E.N.D: this is your place right? This tower?

Irene: Yeah years ago when it was built I decided to make this my vacation home in case I needed to get away from the dragon gods.

E.N.D: who would had thought that there would be a living quarters inside the Tokyo Tower.

He says with a chuckle

Irene: that's why I built it no one would think to look here.

She chuckles as well but then gets a serious look on her. Natsu felt the change in her.

E.N.D: something wrong?

Irene: Just thinking...

E.N.D: what about?

Irene: with all of that has happened recently what would we do about the dragon gods?

E.N.D: I say we worry about them once this is all over. We can't be worrying about another enemy when we're battling one already.
