Marinette's POV

I felt tears trickle down my face and Tikki rustle in my bag as I ran. I didn't know where I was going but- I was tired, dammit! I was tired of fighting, I was tired of hiding secrets and lying, and I was tired of not being able to talk properly to the people who actually mattered in my life! Sure I was over Adrien now, but for Lila to violate my personal-

It's times like these when I wish Luka was still around. He always knew just the right thing to say. I gasped for air wishing he was here to wrap his strong comforting arms around me, and tell me everything would be okay.

(A/N: ⚠️I feel like a language and angst warning needs to be put here because well... um I got carried away writing Marinette's angst...⚠️)

I needed him or someone. Sure Cat Noir was there, but not for me, for Ladybug. Love, happiness, truth, confidence, all of those things just came so easy for her. We were the same person, so why was it so hard for me and not her?! How is it that I can't even get- One. Fucking. Sentence. Out. Of. My. Mouth and she could just be so-

So fucking perfect. I was nowhere near as perfect as her.

I know this was getting ridiculous. We were the same but- it never felt like it. She felt superior to me in every way.

As I was sprinting I could hear Adrien behind me screaming my name. I couldn't. At not least right now- Not ever, so I ignored him. It was like all the stress and pain from the past three years all came back....

I was running down the crosswalk my tears blinding me when-

Adrien's POV

"Adrien, we need to get you back in class before your father hears about this!" Plagg urgently spoke.

"No, not now." I said panting. Marinette could be in trouble. She ran out of the school and I needed to make sure she's okay.

In the moment of crisis I couldn't help but wonder... How did she run away so fast? Maybe she did a little track? I saw on her Instagram that she went on runs with Kagami...

My thoughts were disrupted by Plagg. "Adrien, Look!"

Adrien looked and above him was a fluttering black butterfly.

"An akuma. Shit."

Nobody's POV

"Marinette!" He yelled running out of the school. He didn't care about the consequences or how badly his father would reprimand him. All he cared about was Marinette and that she was safe.

HONK!

He heard a loud car honk and a scream in the direction the akuma was heading.

The scream sent shivers down his spine. It was Marinette's voice that was laced in the scream.

I was sprinting down the street now. I couldn't transform as Chat Noir in the open like this, and Marinette could already be in a lot of major trouble right now.

"Adrien!"

He turned around to see a girl with freckles dotted on the cheeks of her face with dark bangs.

Not Marinette but Kagami.
