We Should Get Married (Platonically) - (Gina)

"We should get married," Goldy said casually one autumn evening. The two girls, Tina and Goldy, were enjoying the crisp autumn air outside on their patio, when Goldy had made the suggest seemingly out of no where.

"Wh-what?"

"Platonically, of course," Goldy added. "We already live together, and it isn't like anyone is interested in us, right?"

"What are you even talking about? We just moved out, we're barely 18. I only agreed to move in with you because I didn't want to work extra hours just to afford rent and food. I certainly didn't agree to marry you!"

"Not now, obviously. Like if we get all old and stuff and we are still single, she would make a promise to marry each other. You know, for the tax benefits." If Goldy minded Tina's demeaning tone, she didn't show it. She was use to it, at this point, with the taller girl.

"I am not planning on staying single forever, Goldy. You know I plan on ending up with Ryan, right?"

"Sure you plan on it, but what happens if we get all old and turn, I don't know, thirty or something, and Ryan still isn't interested in you? Are you really planning on paying all of the extra "single person" taxes your whole life?"

"Goldy, I'll have Ryan by the time I'm 25."

"Okay, but if you don't?"

"I will."

"Tiiinaaa."

"Fine, if I'm thirty and still single, even though that is never going to happen, I'll marry you," Tina finally caved, wanting to move on from this cursed topic.

"Yes!" Goldy exclaimed, clapping her hands together. "I'm holding you to that!"

Tina rolled her eyes, but she couldn't suppress the grin that her best friend's happiness from the prospect of their platonic wedding.

Wow, she thought, past me was wrong. I would marry Goldy if she was the last available option on Earth. 

Not like it would matter. Ryan would be hers long before it came to that.

Just a short little Drabble because I cannot sleep, and this idea popped into my head. So, question, do you guys prefer a few long one shots or many short one shots? Because I have not shortage of ideas recently, it's just hard getting them up to a word count that I'm proud of. If you enjoy these short bite-sized one shots, I could do them more often. If not, I'll keep working on some longer ones. Haha.
