"Thank you all for coming to this very urgent meeting." Unicorn Mann thanked, addressing everyone in the royal meeting room.
"Yes, yes, Unicorn, what's going on?" King Leo asked his trusty advisor.
"We finally were able to translate the curse put on our Princess Tina, thanks to my helper, Goldy."
"Yeah, it was no problem. It was a made up language, so no wonder no one was getting anywhere."
"Right, thank you, as I was saying, we figured out the curse."
"Hold up, there's a curse?" Tina asked.
"Yeah." Her father nodded.
"And no one thought to tell me before now?"
"We didn't want to worry until we knew what it was," King Leo explained. "What is it?" He braced for the worst.
"Well, you see." The royal advisor shifted uncomfortably in his seat. "The curse states that the princess will die the night before her twenty-fifth birthday."
The room froze. Even Tina's less mature brother, who had been goofing off, playing a video game in his lap, not paying attention.
"Hang on." Tina said after a moment. "I'm gonna die on the day before my twenty-fifth birthday?"
"Yes," Unicorn said solemnly.
"So, what you're saying is, until that specific date, I'm pretty much immortal?"
"Technically yes, but they you'll-" King Leo was cut off by his daughter.
"Wow..." Tina pulled out her phone, clicking a few things before holding it up to her ear. "Yo Cookie! Let's go learn how to throw knives while gliding through the air on hang gliders over shark-infested waters, like you wanted!" Tina told her princess friend from the neighboring kingdom. Cookie had a similar curse, though her curse said she would die after giving birth to her first child.
"Bet! Let's go!"
