Chapter 34: Orange Submariner

Y/N POV

The next day I woke up feeling so much better.

The cold that had been with me for the two days prior had finally left me and I felt so energised again.

My shift in mood had an effect on everyone as everything seemed to lighten up again.

Albeit momentarily.

I still had a job to do.

Make sure that Akko is not expelled!

I was aware of how much of a test this was going to be for me.

It was going to test pretty much everything that I had learned recently.

I had to dig around in my mind to help her like she has helped me.

And like I said, I would do this for any of my girls!

But right now I couldn't find Akko.

I'm sure she had to be here somewhere.

She didn't have any lessons today.

Or that's what I though until I bumped into Lotte.

I was meant to go and see them.

Y/N: H-hey Lotte!

She looks at me and walks over.

Lotte: H-hey Y/N. Are you looking for Akko?

Y/N: I-I a-am yes. Do you know where I could find her?

Lotte: She's in a lesson with Professor Pisces at the moment, but she might be done soon.

Y/N: W-what does she teach?

Lotte: Magic philosophy, a subject that if Akko passes could save her from expulsion.

Y/N: Th-that's what I'll do then. I-I'll help her do that.

Lotte: Y-you know I-I really admire you going out of your way to do this for her. She really loves you.

Y/N: Y-yeah. I-I'm really lucky.

Lotte: I-I think they are also very lucky. Y-you're such a l-lovely person!

She was blushing a little after she said that.

Admittedly I did find Lotte to be really cute.

She didn't say much to me, but she was just like me. We were both a bit shy.

So it was nice to know that I wasn't the only one.

Y/N: R-really? Th-thanks Lotte.

Lotte: Y-you're welcome.

There were a few moments of silence until she looks back at me.

Lotte: H-hey u-ummm I-I was wondering i-if you wanted to s-spend sometime together. I-I've hardly talked to you and Akko and Sucy always say really nice things about you!

Y/N: S-sure. I-I'd love to. I-I wanna get to know you a bit better.

A smile spreads across her face as she leaps at me and pulls me into a hug.

Lotte: Th-thank you! I-it means a lot to know that you wanna get to know me! Too many people have just ignored me in the past!

That seemed really hard to believe.

Yes she was quiet, but if you talk to her you see a completely different girl.

I return the hug and gently patted her back.
