A Part Of It (Avengers)

Chapter 25

It was 10 p.m, and everyone was back at the compound besides Thor, Clint, Nat and Steve. We were all gathered at the kitchen counter, talking and then I remembered something.

"What was the deal with the feud you had with Steve anyway?" I asked looking at Tony and everyone stopped talking and looked back at me,

"You mean the 'Civil War'." Peter asked one of his eyebrows raised and I nodded,

"Oh my God it is such a long story." said Wanda sighing and Tony just looked at me and said,

"Nothing important, the most important thing now is that it's in the past and everything is good now." he forced a smile on his face, and I looked behind him at Wanda and Vision, and Wanda mouthed a 'I'll tell you about it later' I went back to loot at my plate, but then Maria Hill, came rushing inside the kitchen and instantly I knew something was up.

"We need you all, Clint, Nat and Steve are in danger, they fell in a trap made by HYDRA, we need you all on site, they are in Zurich in Switzerland, a jet is ready to go we need to help them now!" Maria said not even breathing and spilling the whole sentence out, we all got up and looked at her, I was like frozen, I felt Tony's hand on my lower back and I relaxed, I looked over at him,

"It'll be fine we are going to get them okay?"he whispered in my ear and I relaxed, still I was so preoccupied for them, 

"Do we know exactly where they are?" I asked Maria as we all made our way out of the kitchen, and walked towards the control room, 

"Yes they have activated their distress signal so we exactly know where they are, they are in hiding for now but we don't know how much longer they can hold on." she said and I nodded,

"What should we expect?" asked Wanda worried,

"Sokovia." was all Maria said, I wasn't there went it all happened, I just know it was terrible, so many civilians' lives lost, 

"Are there any civilians on site?" asked Tony,

"There are." Maria said again,

"Okay well excuse me, I will go get my things, you will have time to brief me in the jet." I said as I made my way towards my room. I didn't know anyone back there in Sokovia but still my heart was hacking to have lost so many people. I know they probably saved the whole freaking planet that day, with great power comes great responsibilities, and I guess in times like that, this phrase makes even more sense than any other times. 

I packed my suit that Tony finally gave me a couple of days ago and packed other stuff I'd need and then it hit me, Aly. What was I going to do? I needed to be with her I needed to take care of her and to take her with me was so not an option. I heard a knock on my door at the same time I was thinking about all of this, I opened the door and there was uncle Nick.

"You have to go, do you think you are prepared for it? It won't be a couple of guys, it will probably be hundreds of enemies mixed with civilians. If you are not up to it, you don't have to go." he told me trying to reassure me but I wasn't going to be a coward and let all of my family go but not me.

"No I want to go, I need to go, I want to be the difference and make the difference, they need us and I need to be there. The only problem I am facing is Aly, I can't take her with me." I told him turning and sitting back down on my bed.

"Don't worry about it I will take care of her," he paused and put his hand on my shoulder,

"Just take care of yourself, don't put yourself in any unnecessary trouble please, you are so very much important for me." he said and I could see he was struggling with his words so I just hugged him and he buried his face in my hair,
