It was the afternoon of the day Midoriya was able to go back to school after his house arrest. At the moment, there was no confirmation for what may happen with the work studies. Although the wait has been short, the anticipation for a simple yes or no felt so long.
"Damn it.." Shinsou mumbled, as Miku approached him from behind, fixing her red transformable wristbands to her arms.
"What is it?" She asked, looking past him to look at the notice on the glass door.
"It's reserved for Class A right now." He said, disappointed that the gym wasn't free for training. Which reminded Miku she had hero training the next day with Present Mic and Vlad King. Through the door, she noticed a spec of periwinkle and navy and she knew what was going on.
'I guess Class A's meeting the Big Three today.' Miku though, with a sigh. She tapped her friend's shoudler, causing him to turn and look at her with a slightly annoyed yet disappointed face.
"You know what." She said, with a sigh, "Screw this and train in the forest?"
"Screw this and train in the forest." He replied with a grin, and they went their way to Ground Omega.
Ground Omega was also a common training ground that they were allowed to go to for Aizawa's brutal training. Apart from Gym Gamma, the forest was a place where both Shinsou and Miku vigorously trained with the binding cloth and to perfect the technique. Which was convenient as the trees served as great leverage and propulsion. Walking around across to the other side of the UA campus, they were able to enter Ground Omega with permission from Vlad King.
When entering into the training grounds, they made sure to follow the path and pick a central part for where they'll leave their stuff. Whilst doing so, they discussed the main rules and what they were going to be doing. But what both students knew was that they needed to improve their combat skills.
"So, we won't be using quirks? Or should we?" Miku finally said as they stood opposite each other.
"No quirks for this round." He agreed, as he got into his usual defensive stance with the binding cloth around his neck. "Don't go easy on me."
"I don't plan to." Miku grinned, pressing the palms of her hands together, causing the red wristband to stretch and unravel into her binding cloth. After having that prepared, she lowly reached her hand to her utility belt that was wrapped around her waist.
"On the count of three." Shinsou said, before he counted down.
"One."
"Two—"
"There's no countdowns in a real fight!" Miku exclaimed.
Taking her tips from her uncle and Mirio, Miku dashed in first to limit the time Shinsou could think. Ripping her compacted staff from her belt, she pressed the hidden button and let it transform, to have it perfectly fit into her hand for an attack. A little shocked with her new support item, he didn't falter like she hoped. Jumping up to strike down, Shinsou used the binding cloth to jump away and land in a nearby tree. When Miku hit the ground, she didn't take long to go after him either.
Having the staff in her left hand and the binding cloth to her right, she shot herself up to where she saw Shinsou land. As she did, Shinsou did his best to dodge and jump to another branch. They did this a few more times, which basically turned into a cat and mouse game for them.
It took a bit time to stall and formulate, but Shinsou was able to dodge again. This time, he was aiming to get her staff away. Her being so focused on Shinsou allowed him to concentrate on the surroundings, more than actually attacking her. So when she took a shot to hit him on the tree, he jumped upwards and instantly wrapped the binding cloth around her staff. With a tight pull, the staff slipped out of her left hand but compress back into a small cylinder. Catching it, he became quite confused as to what happened. Even so, he kept it in his hand.
