"Your sister, she's been put under emergency care." The doctor suddenly announced.
'No... Miku!' It was like something had shattered on the inside of his chest. His heart aches and his grip on the ring tightened. Shōta grimaced in disbelief, while Yamada snapped his head around in the same expressive manner.
"What do you mean...?!" Yamada questioned, speaking on behalf of the two.
"During her breathing fits, it's become clear that if we don't stabilise her condition now, she may not be able to wake up from her coma..." The doctor continued to explain, "However, one of our doctors, Dr Nakahara, has a quirk that deals with issues such as these – which was nearly force activated when she was present. At the moment, Dr Nakahara has used her quirk, so Miku's condition will be stable. But, due to this circumstance, it may take longer than the two weeks for her to wake up."
"Thank you for letting me know..." Shōta said, trying to decipher the information he was given about his little sister. "How are her injuries looking?"
"Just like Bakugou, her injuries will slowly close up after some time. The ones on the arms and legs will heal the fastest out of them all." They answered. "However, the lung injury will take longer. Once we bring Recovery Girl in, we'll see how much process the wounds heal and then we can go from there."
Nodding, Shōta caught a glimpse of the ring Miku had given back to him. He read the engravings of his birthday clear on the metal. "I see."
"Again, I do apologise for barging in here, but you needed to know."
"It's okay, as long as Miku is okay..." He muttered, watching as the messenger had exited the room. "Do you know how long she'll be in a coma for?"
"Sadly, I can't answer that. But I can reassure you it'll be before the end of this month." The doctor assumed. "I'll update you on that as soon as we revise her vitals."
"Right, thank you..."

After he regained consciousness and reunited with his mother, Midoriya had heard what happened to the rest of the classmates through All Might and other nurses that were looking after him. 'Miku...' He thought, as he gazed towards the clock above the sliding door. Upon hearing her state, Midoriya couldn't even fathom someone being in a coma. He didn't think her injuries would leave her in such a severe state. Looking back at himself and his newly unbandaged arms, his grip on the blanket that covered his body tightened, crumpling the sheets. Frustration wasn't enough to describe how he was feeling.
'I should've done more...!' The countless regretful thoughts passed through his mind as he wished for a different outcome. An outcome where no one was hurt. But he couldn't dwell on the mistakes of the war. He had to move forward. He has to keep going.
Prior to his visit with Gran Torino, Midoriya had to make another stop before he went to one of his mentors. Following the signs, he stumbled upon a room which was in the supposed corridor she was in. The name 'Aizawa Miku' reflected back at him on the nameplate next to the door. She was past that door.
After peeking through her room's door, he quietly made his way in, the moon illuminating the walls, floor and bed through the blinds of the window. She was peacefully asleep. He couldn't forget the face she pulled as she told him to stay back and away from Shigaraki. Blood that dripped down from her mouth, staining the hands that she tried to resist the spikes with. He wished he could have reached her sooner. She was ready to die so he couldn't get hurt. So, seeing her sound made him feel a little relieved that she wasn't feeling any pain anymore. But knowing how she might fall into perpetual rest; the unease rose back up once again. He advanced towards the bed, taking a seat by the chair that was left beside her bed.
