It was a big game for France, people thinking france would kill easily, that they would beat Switzerland, and it looked that way until Switzerland got a late goal to make it 3-3, and put it too extra time, and when no goals were scored put it too penalties.
When your boyfriend missed his penalty you felt your heart drop, you felt so bad for him, you could tell he wanted to crawl into a hole and not come out for a while.
You made your way back to the hotel, knowing you were not aloud to stay due to covid.
About three hours had passed since you got back to the hotel, when suddenly the hotel door opened to reveal your boyfriend, he had blood shot eyes, and looked tired.
You immediately got up and went over to hug him "it's gonna be open" you said in a whisper tone, which was not a good thing to say, he pulled away from the hug and looked angry "it's not gonna be okay we lost, i missed the penalty and missed a ton of sitters, i lost us the game, i'm the reason we are out of the euros so no it's not gonna be okay" he shouted
"hey don't shout at me i get your mad but don't take it out on me" you said fed up with him already you get he would be annoyed at himself but you didn't want to be his punching bag, this mostly happened every time he lost out on a important game you would become his punching bag, and then couple hours later he would apologise
"i'm sorry i don't mean to" he said not meeting your eyes "it's fine ky look i know your annoyed, you played great for certain parts of the game and look ignore whatever that Adrien Rabiot mum is saying, she's even criticising pogba, like who does that, taking digs at your sons team mates, look you have won the world cup not a lot of teams have done that, i know it sucks that your out of the euros, but you have a bright future in front of you don't forget that babe" you said while hugging onto the your boyfriend even tighter
You stayed hugging each other for a bit longer until you let his go for a shower, and you got everything cleaned up knowing you would be heading back to paris very soon.
