NIYA'S POV:-

I couldn't wait for Blake's arrival, my heart beating with anticipation. When he finally walked through the door, I practically bounced with excitement. "Well? Don't keep me in suspense!" I exclaimed eagerly.

As Blake sat on my bed, his face lit up with mischievous glee. "I found a way for us to sneak into the library!" he announced triumphantly, the thrill of adventure practically radiating off him.

My eyes widened with excitement as I asked, "How on earth did you manage that?" My heart raced as I imagined the thrill of sneaking around and conducting covert research.

"Cedric and Amanda are having a rehearsal dinner tonight, so everyone will be occupied at the dinner," Blake explained, winking at me conspiratorially. "We can sneak out of the dinner and do some covert research."

I couldn't contain my excitement and let out a joyful squeal. "You're a genius!" I exclaimed, feeling an electric excitement buzz through my veins. I couldn't wait to embark on this thrilling adventure with Blake.

"Well, I'm only doing this for you," Blake said modestly, but the proud glint in his eyes betrayed his excitement.

"Oh come on, there's no 'for me' and 'for you' in friendship, Blake," I said, smiling at him warmly. "We're in this together."

"You're the cutest thing I've ever seen," Blake said affectionately, pulling on my cheeks playfully.

"Ew, not you too!" I exclaimed, laughing and trying to bat his hands away.

Blake chuckled as he got up from my bed. "I need to head down. I'll see you at the breakfast table."

The next morning, as we gathered around the breakfast table, I was just about to dig into my food when Liam called out to me, "So Niya, did you find a job yet?" His tone was laced with a hint of sarcasm, and I felt a pang of defensiveness in my chest.

"No, I didn't," I sighed, feeling defeated and frustrated with my job search.

But Liam surprised me with his proposal. "Cedric will need an assistant soon, as Rosa is only working for a few more days. Since you haven't found a job yet and we'll need an assistant soon, why don't you take the position as Cedric's assistant? It'll give you valuable experience and a boost to your resume in the future."

My heart raced with excitement and a glimmer of hope flickered in my chest. "That sounds amazing!" I exclaimed, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Liam. This unexpected opportunity was a ray of sunshine in an otherwise frustrating job search.

I hesitated for a moment, my mind racing with doubts and insecurities. Could I really handle working for the notorious Mister Cedric? Would it be worth the constant barrage of his arrogant behavior? "I'll think about it," I said, my voice laced with uncertainty.

Liam nodded, his eyes narrowing slightly as if he were trying to read my thoughts. "Let us know soon," he said firmly, leaving no room for further discussion.

As I turned my gaze towards Cedric, I caught a glimpse of his face out of the corner of my eye. He was staring at me with an inscrutable expression, his lips pressed tightly together. It was as if he already knew about the job offer, and he didn't seem too pleased about it.

As everyone finished breakfast, they all began to file out of the room, leaving me and Blake alone with our thoughts.

It had been four days since the chaotic events at the club, and I couldn't help but wonder why Cedric hadn't spoken to me or treated me rudely in that time. It was as if he was suddenly indifferent towards me, a strange shift in his behavior that left me feeling confused and unsure.
