NIYA'S POV:-

"You're alive" The sound of those three words echoed in my ears as I stood in front of her. The girl's eyes were wide and doe-like, staring at me with a mixture of shock and disbelief. Her oblong face was a beautiful shade of brown, and her plump lips hung slightly open with a gap between them.

"It can't be," she spoke in a voice that was both sweet and stunned. My heart sank as tears welled up in my eyes. Memories flooded my mind, making it hard to breathe.

I turned and began walking away, trying to hold back my emotions. But the tears were flowing uncontrollably down my face. I asked myself, "Why can't I be happy for once? Why is this happening to me?"

Someone called out, "Khushi!" But I couldn't stop, my legs had a will of their own. I walked past everyone present for the ceremony, out of the pack hall, and onto the open ground. The sky above me was vast and endless.

I started walking towards the woods, hoping for some peace and quiet, but someone grabbed my hand and jerked me back. "Niya," a soft voice called out to me.

"Let me go, please," I begged, my tears still streaming down my face.

"Hey, look at me, Niya," he said, as he lifted my chin and gazed into my eyes. I looked into his beautiful green eyes, which held an immense amount of concern and care that I had never seen before. His thumb wiped away my tears as he tucked my hair behind my ear.

"What happened?" he asked, his voice gentle and filled with concern.

"Nothing," I shook my head, not wanting to talk about it.

"Niya," he said again, and I couldn't control it anymore. I hugged him tightly and cried, my mind flashing back to all the memories.

"Shushhh," he cooed, holding me close.

"Please, take me home," I cried, and heard him sigh.

"Okay, let's go," he said, stopping me from moving away. He lifted me up in his arms, one hand under my thighs and the other under my shoulders, and carried me towards the car.

He slowly walked over to the car, and I followed him, still feeling a little shaky. Gently, he helped me inside and took care to fasten my seatbelt, making sure I was secure. I felt a sense of comfort as he wiped the tears from my face and pressed a tender kiss on my forehead.

"Are you okay?" I tilted my head to look at him as he took his seat in the driver's side, feeling a mix of emotions swirling inside me.

"Yes, I'm fine," he shrugged. "Why do you ask?"

"Why are you being so kind to me?" I couldn't help but ask, my curiosity getting the better of me. He didn't answer right away, causing me to repeat the question.

"We can talk about this tomorrow," he sighed, his eyes meeting mine with a sense of understanding.

As we drove, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Memories of my past flooded my mind, and I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed. Suddenly, the sound of screeching tires interrupted my thoughts. I turned to Cedric, who looked at me with concern.

"Are you all right?" he asked, his voice full of care, as he gently tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear.

I felt a warm sensation inside as I gazed into his eyes, feeling grateful for his kindness. "Yes," I whispered, nodding slowly.

"Let's go inside," he said, unlocking the door and helping me out of the car. I followed him inside, still feeling a little shaky from the day's events.

Cedric instructed me to rest on the bed while he attended Matt's ceremony. As I sat there, lost in thought, I heard a knock at the door.

"Come in," I called out, feeling a sense of curiosity.
