Pinamulahan ako ng pisngi at napatingin sa paligid ko. An old woman eyed me from head to toe with such disgust on her face. Nakakahiya.
I blinked and looked away. Hiyang hiya ako sa pagtaas ng boses ko. I should've not conluded things and confronted him like this. Gusto ko tuloy iuntog ang ulo sa pagkapahiya ko sa sarili ko.
"Please calm down..." Sabi ni Ate Eliz sa mahinang boses. "... We can settle this in a private place, not here."
Hindi ko masalubong ang mga titig ni Kuya Lance. I want to apologize so bad but my mouth wouldn't open!
"Yeah let's settle this somewhere private," He said meaningfully.
I sighed and went out that shop first before them. Namumula ang pisngi ko sa hiya at siniguradong naglakad sa isang sulok kung saan hindi ako makikita ng mga tao sa jewelry shop na 'yon.
Tahimik lang akong nag-abang sa pagdating ng dalawa habang hawak ang mga paperbag na pinamili kanina. Damn it was so embarrassing that I want to leave cebu first thing in the morning!
"Let's go to that coffee shop. May kailangan akong sabihin sa'yo," sabi ni Kuya Lance sa akin. Seryoso ang mga mata pati ang kanyang boses kaya kinabahan ako.
Nakapili kaya siya ng singsing? Baka hindi dahil umeksena ako kanina... Kasalanan ko ba? Nakahawak sakanya na parang linta ang babaeng 'yon. Is she an employee there? Parang hindi naman halata!
We went to a near coffee shop and hindi parin ako nagsasalita o makatingin kay Kuya Lance. They ordered pero hindi ako umorder but a cup of coffee was served infront of me by ate Eliz. I guess she ordered for me.
Maybe I was generalizing men too much? I suddenly realized that I was at mistake sa ginawa ko. The emotion ran through me and masyado akong nagpadala doon. I didn't even think rationally if it's okay to confront him infront of those people.
I knew I had to apologize so when Kuya Lance sat infront of me I gathered my bravery and met his stares.
"I'm sorry, Kuya Lance! Nagpakain ako sa emosyon, pasensya na..." I sincerely said.
His serious face remained. "It's fine. Just don't drag my brother into it... hindi siya gaya ng sinasabi mo." Nangunot ang noo ko.
"Ha?"
"Nothing. I asked you to come here because I have a favor to ask. Siguro bayad mo na rin 'to sa pagpapahiya sa'kin."
My eyes widened, "I'm really sorry, Kuya! You can ask me any favor," pinagdikit ko ang dalawang palad ko.
Kuya Lance chuckled loudly.
"There's the old Lexi I know!" Umawang ang labi ko. "I actually doubted if you'll help me. Buti nalang may atraso ka ngayon."
My heart thumped loudly because I know something shady is behind this favor from him. Huwag naman sana ang naiisip ko ang gawin niyang pabor. I don't like people setting me up in unexpected happenings.
"I need your help sa anniversary namin ni Kass. I'm gonna propose to her and I want it grand but I can't ask your brother for help since he's busy so I came to the idea to ask you for help," aniya.
People still plans surprises for proposal? Ang iba ay inaaya nalang magpakasal o kaya ay binubuntis nalang para siguradong harapan na sa altar e.
