Kira's POV
We listened to the teacher as he spoke about our assignment. We basically had a character building project.
All we had to do was build a good friendship with our group partners so at the end of the project we could do our trusting exercise.
"What does this have to do with class" somebody asked and we all laughed "Well Janet it helps with future activities. And it teaches you about trust. You all might think making a friend is easy but not within 3 weeks it is. Our great principal will be allowing sleepovers for all boys and then all girls."
"Ain't that like stuff for kids we finna graduate this year we seem a lil too old for this" a different person said making the whole class laugh again
"So basically what you're telling me is all these gangs and fights outside of school is ok? You guys are doing this because y'all can't seem to get along with the Wilson school"
"Y'all? Ion even talk to them folks." Andre chuckled
"Look I know this is different but we need you guys to get along considering our schools are close together. No more fights, no more arguments, now I'm not saying you have to be the best of friends just at least be ok with being around each other." Mr Turf spoke
"Why do we only have to do this" I asked
"Oh not just us everyone besides 4th grade and down." The other school teacher said
"Why 5th 6th and 7th" a guy named Jay laughed
"We've had problems with those grades also. Anymore questions?" Mr Turf said sounding a little annoyed "but wasn't our schools beefing since like forever?"
"Great question actually, and yes but this generation is taking it to the next level, you guys are shooting each other spitting on each other just being violent and that's not a good look."
"But like wouldn't that consider being a tradition" laney asked I rolled my eyes "its not a traditional thing dummy." Mr Turf glared at me
"She is correct but no one in this class is dumb." I nodded
"My bad he just a lil slow" I chuckled "That is enough from you Shakira" Mr Turf glared at me again
"To answer your question laney, no it's not a tradition and if it was we're stopping that tradition right now end of conversation. Now let's get to assigning groups, when I say your name come to me grab this packet and go with the people who were called with you."
"Ion wanna do this shit like at all" Andre whispered "me either shit is so pointless" "What we gettin into after this tho" we looked at each other and smiled "2k" we both said at the same time then laughed
