A groan escaped from Madelyn's lips and she tore her blue gaze away from the screen of her laptop and closed her eyes, rubbing her temples.

"Tired." She mumbled.

Sam looked up from yet another book that he had been paging through and gave her a soft smile. "Why don't you take a break?" He suggested.

"No thanks, College Boy." The blonde responded with a teasing tone, her eyes still closed.

Narrowing his hazel eyes playfully, the shaggy haired male released a small chuckle. "Really?" He quizzed. "'College Boy'?"

With a playful smirk gracing her lips, Madelyn opened her eyes and settled her gaze on the tall hunter. "Yeah." She answered. "It's what you are."

"That was almost three years ago, Maddie." Sam said, rolling his eyes with a smile across his lips.

"Still a College Boy." She responded. "Or would you prefer your childhood nickname, Slow Poke?"

His jaw dropped which resulted in a smirk to grace her lips.

"Low blow." Sam mumbled with an amused shake of his head.

"We can go out into the parking lot like old times and I'll race you." Madelyn suggested, her smirk broadening slightly. "I swear I'll go easy on you since you were just a soccer player."

The young hunter rolled his eyes as he tried to bite back his smile. "Now you're just taking hits at me." He replied with a chuckle.

"I told you track was so much better." The blonde said with a soft giggle. "Preserves energy."

"Yeah, yeah, you were right." The shaggy haired male replied, rolling his eyes playfully.

"You were good though." She responded. "Bobby told us. I'm proud of you."

He stared at her in silence for a moment as a smile slowly spread across his face. "Thanks, Maddie." He said.

"Yeah, yeah," Madelyn rolled her eyes playfully as she leaned forward to look through the contents of the hex bag. "Don't get a big head on me." She teased.

Sam rolled his eyes with a smile and noticed that she had her gaze set on a silver piece. "That's--"

"Celtic." She said, cutting him off in mid-sentence as a few strands of hair fell into her face. "And it's not a knock-off."

Sam nodded slowly and moved onto the next item from the bag. "This is a--"

"Newborn baby." She cut him off once more as she looked at the charred item before shifting her gaze onto the flower. "And the flower, it's Goldthread. It's been extinct for two hundred years."

The shaggy haired male stared at her with an impressed expression on his face. "You know your stuff." He said.

"I'm as pretty as I am smart." The blonde responded with a smile. "And I can also Google things, College Boy."

Sam released a soft chuckle and picked up an organic piece from the hex bag and held it up, inspecting it.

Suddenly the door opened, grabbing both the young hunter and huntress' attention to find their older siblings walk in, with Dean tossing his car keys onto the table under the window, before he unwrapped a piece of candy and tossed it into his mouth.

"Really?" Sam questioned. "After that guy choked down all those razor blades?"

"It's Halloween, man." Dean responded casually.

The shaggy haired male rolled his eyes slightly. "Yeah, for us everyday is Halloween." He scoffed.

"Don't be a downer." The sandy haired male replied.
