"I can still smell them." Ruby said as she stepped into the motel room, and turned around to face the tall hunter as he closed the door behind her. "Seriously, Sam, I'm not exactly dying to tangle with Angels again."
"I need you to find out where they took Dean." Sam said as he faced her.
"Not sure I see the problem." The demoness replied with a shrug of her shoulders. "You know they have Alastair strung up six ways from Sunday. Dean cuts himself a slice, Al's reduced to a quivering heap, and the good guys get the goods. What's wrong with that?"
"He can't do it." The shaggy haired male responded.
"Look, I get it." She said with a soft sigh. "You don't want him going all torture master again."
"No. I mean, he can't do it." He replied. "He can't get the job done. Something happened to him downstairs, Ruby. He's not what he used to be. He's not strong enough."
The dark haired woman arched a brow and tilted her head slightly. "And you are?" She quizzed.
The hunter swallowed thickly and gave a slight nod of his head. "I will be.." He answered.
The demoness stared at the youngest Winchester in silence before she released a soft sigh with a slight roll of her eyes.
She pulled out a map and laid it out across the table, before she grabbed a candle and lit it.
Standing before the map, her dark eyes glanced towards the hunter - as he watched her - before she began the incantation.
As she chanted, she held the lit candle to the corner of the map which seemed to put Sam on edge as he watched the fire spread around the edges.
"Relax. The fire is our friend." Ruby said, taking note of his uneasy expression. "Besides, the only part of the map we need is the "Where's Dean?" part. Out."
The flames had then vanished, leaving the map charred to unreadability but only a small circle in the middle had remained untouched.
"There. Your brother's there." The demoness stated. "It's a good thing Angels aren't concerned with hiding their dirty business. Not used to being spied on. I mean, who'd be stupid enough to try?"
Sam, who had been silent throughout, shifted his gaze from the uncharred section of the map and shifted his hazel gaze onto the dark haired woman. "Ruby, it's been weeks.." He said quietly. "I need it."
Ruby assessed the hunter and tilted her head slightly. "You don't seem too happy about it." She stated.
"You think I wanna do this? This is the last thing I--" The hunter released a heavy sigh, running a hand through his hair as he sat down on the bed. "But I need to be strong enough."
The demoness sauntered her way over to the guilt-stricken hunter and straddled his lap. "It's okay. It's okay, Sammy." She cooed and cupped his face between her hands, running her thumb lightly over his lips. "You can have it." She whispered and leaned in, pressing her lips against his.
Sam quickly pulled away and shook his head at her.
"Kiss or no blood." Ruby threatened as she stared down at him from her position on his lap.
The shaggy haired male shook his head once more. "I can't.." He whispered. "I can't. Not to Maddie.."
Despite the two not being anything official yet, there were evident feelings between the younger Winchester and Hale siblings.
And to Sam, he knew this would hurt the younger Nephilim huntress.
"And yet you called me." Ruby pointed out.
"For blood." Sam replied. "Not to kiss you."
The demoness rolled her eyes and pulled out a knife from her ankle sheath. "I'm not a blood bag." She said as she handed him the knife before holding her arm out to him.
Taking the knife into his grasp, the hunter cut into her arm, drawing a reasonable amount of blood before he threw the knife aside onto the bed next to them. He then brought her arm up to his mouth, where he began drinking the red liquid straight from the vein.
A smirk settled across Ruby's lips as she watched Sam feed on her blood eagerly, all while she stroked her fingers through his hair. "It's okay, Sam." She cooed as her smirk broadened slightly.
"Yeah, Sam." A voice called out, startling both the hunter and the demoness as their gazes shifted towards the door way.
Sam's eyes widened slightly, blood staining his lips as he removed Ruby from his lap to stand up. "Maddie.." He breathed.
The Nephilim's blue eyes stared at him icily. "We're not here for you." She stated coolly. "We're here to find Dean."
The demoness rolled her eyes as she cleaned up her arm. "Great, more Angels." She muttered.
Within a blink of an eye, Madelyn had grabbed hold of Ruby and slammed her head onto the table - a loud thud from the impact echoing throughout the room.
"Listen carefully, because I am definitely not in the mood." She said as she leaned over the demoness, her blue gaze in a heated glare. "Do your little witch magic and find Dean before I send you back to Hell."
Ruby scoffed with a roll of her eyes, as she struggled in Madelyn's steel grip. "You're bluffing." She said.
The younger Hale sister laughed humourlessly and shifted her gaze towards her older sister. "Cami, she thinks I'm bluffing." She said and suddenly shoved a knife into the dark haired woman's hand.
"Funny." Camryn responded with a smirk as she leaned down to the struggling demoness. "Whatever gave you that idea?"
"Why don't you read her a little Latin?" Madelyn suggested as she shifted her gaze back to Ruby, who stiffened under her hold.
"My pleasure." The eldest Hale replied. "Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus, omnis satanica potestas, omnis incursio infernalis adverasrii, omnis legio, omnis congretgatio et secta diabolica."
As Camryn continued the Latin prayer, Ruby had begun to struggle more violently than before, under Madelyn's hold, and released a piercing scream.
"Okay! Okay.." The demoness screamed, glancing between the Nephilim sisters as Camryn's chanting had come to a pause. "Look at the map."
Madelyn glanced up at her sister and gave a slight nod, still keeping a steel-like grip on the demon while her sister had looked at the uncharred piece of the map.
"Got it." Camryn stated, instructing her sister with a firm nod to let go of the dark haired woman. "Let's go."
"Good." The younger blonde replied and pulled Ruby up, only to kick her onto her back harshly and glared down at her. "Consider this your lucky day."
"Maddie.." Sam called out, grabbing her attention but the expression on her face was one that he had never wished to see.
"Don't 'Maddie' me." The Nephilim huntress said coldly, her eyes trained on him with disgust. "You disgust me."
As she turned to leave, the young hunter reached out and grabbed hold of her hand. "Maddie, wait--"
Before he could utter another word, Madelyn had flung around, ripping her hand from his and flung him back into the wall - ultimately knocking the breath from Sam as he landed on the floor with a grunt.
Pushing himself up slightly, he shifted his gaze up towards the furious blonde and stared at her with a mixture of shock, surprise and guilt.
"Don't touch me." She said coldly and followed her sister out of the motel room, and left Sam Winchester behind.
