That's crazy!

Clarke explained the whole group what had happened and that they had to leave. Without a second doubt the whole place was carnage with people packing and putting things away. Leoni stood in the middle of it all, watching silently. Some girls gathered in twos or threes and whispered while throwing Leoni bitchy glances, others gave her a quick nod of respect on their way past. The boys tended to either shove past her and call her cruel names or pat her on the back in thanks as they rushed around her. The girl wondered what they were all thinking. She knew that earning their trust and admiration would be hard and for her to give the same back would be even harder. It wasn't long before Leoni's mind wandered back to Lincoln. Where was he? Safe or dead? Would they kill her too if he was dead? Then to Lexa. Did her commander know she was gone? Would she be mad? All of a sudden Leoni was pulled out of the horrors she was drowning in by a hand on her shoulder. She snapped around to face two boys looking at her with a childish smile of nerves painted on their faces

"Hey!" The first boy said, he had dark hair and dark eyes. Leoni looked him up and down which to be fair probably came off quite intimidating but Leoni wasn't used to meeting nice people

"Yes?" She asked pursing her lips raising her eyebrows

"Em my name is em, Monty-Monty Greene! And this is Jasper"
Monty introduced nervously

"Hi I'm Jasper" the brunette boy laughed flusterdly

"We think it's really cool what you're doing for us" Monty continued eagerly

"Our expertise are in technology so whenever you need us just give us a shout" he added with a dazed look on his face

"Yeah so em we wanted to tell you that, you can count on us. We think it's really cool how you're helping us and we have your back" Jasper spoke up, bravery tingling in his voice

"I don't need anyone to have my back-"Leoni started instinctively but then she looked at the boys and realised this was a token of peace

"Thank you. And the same goes of course" the boys grinned at each other before walking off

"Monty and Jasper, one of your crew stuck a spear through Jaspers chest and he's still alive so maybe we're not as weak as you think" Octavia smirked from where she had appeared at Leoni's side

"Oh he was always supposed to survive. At least long enough to be questioned but we never got that far before he escaped." Leoni stated blankly

"Lincoln's safe by the way" Octavia continued pretending she wasn't disturbed by the fact that Leoni was so unmoved but that changed as soon as Lincoln's name echoed through Leoni's ears, she snapped her head around to look at Octavia

"I snuck him out we...we're kinda..."

"Yeah I know" Leoni smiled softly in a knowing way

"I know what you two are". She winked, Octavia went red

"You're good for him and in turn you'll realise that he's good for you too" Leoni put a comforting hand on Octavia's shoulder as she just nodded

"If you have to turn on us last minute-" Octavia started

"There will be no turning. All I'm doing is giving you a chance. If you are still here when we attack I will fight." Leoni butted in

"I understand, we'll be ok and you'll still have a place here, with me, regardless of what your title is." Octavia explained softly and Leoni nodded slowly

"What about my Dad? Is he alive?" Leoni asked. Octavia tensed up

"No...he came down in a drop ship and it... it crashed and burned everyone. Clarke's Mum was on it too." Octavia answered carefully. She watched as Leoni's tough exterior became even stronger

"Oh..." Leoni's only memories of the Ark had all been with her Dad. He was always there and even in the ground he took comfort knowing he was up there in the stars, waiting to see her again. However she was used to death so she didn't show how much this news had affected her

"I'm sorry I-"

"Can you fight?" Leoni changed the subject quickly

"I mean i've learned how to shoot a gun and i'm not bad with my fists" Octavia looked at Leoni confused

"Guns are cheating, when everything settles down and peace is restored, I'm going to teach you, properly, with a sword and with your head." Leoni looked at Octavia with a sense of pride

"you're strong i can see that"

"thank you" Octavia fought to contain her growing smile

"we should leave soon" Leoni changed the subject again not wanting to dwell on feelings

"yeah I'm gonna go find Clarke find out what's going on" Octavia nodded before turning on her heel and leaving. Just as Leoni went back to people watching, another being was by her side except this one was not so welcome...
