"What is it?" Bellamy asked Leoni and Gaia as they marvelled at the unmistakable mark of the flame on the skull in front of them
"They were all commanders" Gaia gasped, completely taken aback. Leoni loooked around at the other skulls to spot the same exact imprint
"There was a flag with the flame on it too" Leoni pointed out to Gaia
"The ones in the front row must be the original eligus team, There's 12 of them" Bellamy gestured to the front row and Leoni came round to view them, careful to lift her skirt so she didn't knock any over. Her eyes ran across the decaying bones and her stomach churned
"Why would they take kids?" She asked almost to herself
"Maternal love is a powerful thing! People will do anything to ensure their loved ones safety" Clarke answered anyway "Now I suggest we ensure our safety by getting the hell out of here" she sassed with pursed lips. It was unlike her. Now the others started to move on her command but Leoni stayed put. There was something else here. She knew it. Her eyes scanned the walls, all the same dusty red except one which showed ever so slight discolouration. Bingo. She walked over to it quickly, pulling out her dagger
"Lee come one lets go" Bellamy told her sternly
"Don't tell me what to do you abandoned my best friend" she snapped back and he couldn't respond. Leoni reached the wall, bringing her hands to feel what she expected to be the same gritty stone as the rest of the palace but instead it was smooth concrete
"Leoni come on!" Clarke pleaded
"Just a second" the commander hissed. She prodded at an opening in the wall with the point of her blade and just like that the whole wall slid open revealing another set of glowing orange doors. Leoni spun her dagger around in her hand before sliding it away. She turned around to the others with a told you so look and pushed open the doors. Gaia and Jordan were the first by her side, swiftly followed by the others. Leoni looked into the dark room and instantly realised the dome like lights on the roof to be the same as the ones in Becca's lab. She gave two clear claps and the lights came on showing the group a large, mainly white lab containing computers, medical beds, shelves and experiments of every kind
"Holy temple attached to a hide away...super original" Murphy muttered sarcastically while Leoni wandered into the lab. She looked over the metal surfaces and glowing laptop screens curiously
"Heda look at this!" Jordan called Leoni over. She whipped her head around and went to see him holding a dress "This was hers, this was Delilah's you have to help me something has happened to her!" He begged. Leoni put an arm round his shoulders, eyes pinned on the pink fabric in his hands
"Ok let's backtrack" the commander started as she let go of Jordan and started to pace with the look of deep concentration that Bellamy melted for "Becca Promheda created the flame after the first apocalypse, she'd already created the tech for eligus 3 by then so that means those people aren't commanders. It's not their tradition they didn't have the flame" Leoni finished
