Walking out of the Ark the atmosphere was more than apparent. Leoni had tied her hair back up in a ponytail but washed off any remaining paint. people eyed her up in disgust but they quickly averted their eyes when Bellamy emerged beside her placing a hand on her lower back
"i'm gonna go find Lincoln...we're gonna want to stick together today" Leoni sighed. she turned around to kiss Bellamy quickly "stay out of trouble!" she called as she hurried away to find Lincoln. spotting him sitting on a patch of grass near the perimeter of the camp she wandered over
"hey Leoni" Lincoln smiled sadly
"you look like the grim reaper" Leoni scoffed jokingly as she fell down beside him
"i feel like him too" Lincoln replied laughing breathlessly
"getting the grounder hate?"
"only got worse once Trikru showed up" Lincoln gestures to the army who had set up camp just outside Arkadia.
"It was good of Lexa to send them to protect them" Leoni mused leaning her head on the boys shoulder
"Skaikru don't quite agree" Lincoln sighed
"They're kinda touchy ay" Leoni laughed
"I know! Guess they didn't get the 'no feelings no worries talk' as kids" Lincoln added with a cheeky smile making Leoni laugh
"So where to next Haiplana?" Lincoln changed the subject looking at the girl with a smirk
"I don't know" Leoni shrugged watching the army in front of the camp set up
"I assume there'll be another battle for us to fight sooner or later"
"You mean for me to fight"
"No I mean for us to fight! You and me, together like always!"
"Seriously?" Leoni sat up straight looking her best friend dead in the eye "After all the shit I've dragged you through you'd still come with me to battle?"
"Of course" he laughed like it was obvious
"But I've killed! Like a lot now! And you weren't too happy with me before mount weather"
"That was the old Leoni"
"The old Leoni?"
"Yes the Leoni I used to know"
"And do tell me what was the Leoni you used to know like amd why would you prefer to follow me into battle over her?" Leoni raised her brow at the boy genuinely curious to the answer she was about to receive
"Well.... The Leoni I used to know lived for revenge. Everything she did was to avenge someone. Usually Kidra but now? Now you do it for the greater good, for beneficiaries over grudges. That's the Leoni I would follow into battle over and over again until my feet gave out and even then I'd just get up and ask where next" Lincoln watched Leoni's face fall into a modest thankful one. An expression he'd never seen on her face until a certain Bellamy Blake.
