Leoni sat, tied to her chair in the church in silence for an hour. She looked around at the decorated walls. There were drawings from the 2 kids of Trimanikru dotted around different embroidery's and tapestry's that told the story of Becca Promheda. They had been happy here. Deep down Leoni knew that would never be the case again. Soon enough the Med kit arrived.
"You do it" the woman passed the small box to the young man carelessly and walked back to take a seat having no interest in keeping the girl well. The young man crouched down in front of Leoni and opened the green box. He took out a Cotten ball and some sort of liquid. He poured whatever was in the bottle onto the cotton and lifted it to her face but Leoni pulled away

"It'll sting a little but something tells me you'll barely feel it" the man kept his closeness and Leoni kept her distance. She didn't let other people clean her up anymore. She shook her head telling him no
"Come on, it'll get infected and you know it" he tried to reason but Leoni kept shaking her head. Eventually the man stopped trying and stood back up
"Suit yourself" he shrugged and walked away.

The woman and man stayed with her for the rest of the day. when darkness started to set in they lit a fire illuminating the girls face. no one had found Maddie or Luna and thanks to the safety of Triamnikru's underground village no one had found the 18 other survivors either. that's all Leoni cared about. the young man walked towards her with a flask. he held it towards Leoni's lips but she kept them pulled shut. she looked up at him through her lashes showing pure disgust but even through such an expression the embers from the fire still managed to light up her face in a way that makes anyone stumble slightly at her stunning features
"it's just water" the man said still holding out the flask. Leoni shook her head no. with a sigh the man took a sip from the flask and swallowed showing her that it was indeed not poisoned. he held it back to her with a reassuring nod. Leoni hesitantly opened her mouth and let the water dribble in. she swallowed it slowly still cautious and the man watched her the whole time. she was gorgeous. she also held eye contact looking for any kind of qualities the man possessed, trying to work him out. He kneeled down in front of her like she was a child
"Can you at least tell me your name?" He asked hopefully. Leoni didn't move. Just stared. Her gaze had softened though.
"What about this on your head" he went to touch the commander emblem that still sat proudly on her head and Leoni jerked her head out the way. He wasn't touching that. She put her guard back up and tried to get away. The man instantly backed off raising his hands in surrender
"Ok ok I'm sorry! I shouldn't have done that ok?" Leoni calmed down but kept as much distance between them as possible
"I'm sorry" he said again and it seemed sincere. He stood up again.
"Well believe it or not this is actually the best conversation I've had in over 100 years" he laughed gently and Leoni let her gaze fall into a soft one again.
"I was an altar boy in a church just like this. In Saginaw! Round about 2 hours outside of Detroit but on my Harley I made it in one" he smiled fondly and it took everything inside Leoni to keep her mouth shut. She'd watched enough action movies to know that a Harley was the most badass motorbike around...in her opinion at least. The man must've noticed how her eyes lit up cause he smiled lightly at her and kept talking
"I used to ride her everywhere" he smiled fondly as he sat down in front of her
"Had a lot of girls on her too" he laughed and Leoni smiled slightly at the joke. The man's smile became wider as he realised he was getting through to her
"My names Miles by the way...you know if that helps. Miles Shaw." He told her and Leoni nodded. She was so close to giving over her name but she didn't. For the family's sake.
