As she regained consciousness Leoni looked around her. all she could see was rubble and dust but then she caught sight of her father
"Daddy?" she asked weakly trying to push herself up only to be met with a fleeting surge of pain through her arm. she called out in agony before looking down and realising her hand was trapped under a boulder
"Leoni honey?" Kane tried to see through the dust and get a better look of his daughter
"your legs trapped!" she noticed and tried to get to her father but was abruptly stopped by her still trapped hand. she screamed in pain as she fell back
"Leoni are you ok?" Kane called trying to free his leg
"don't move!" Leoni instructed hissing as she used all her weight to push the rock off of her with her feet "holy shit that hurts" she sobbed tearlessly pushing with all her might "i'm never giving birth if it's sorer than this" she groaned finally making the boulder roll off of her hand and clutching it to her chest as fast as she could "fuck!" she bit her lip as she looked down to her messed up, bleeding hand.
"language" Kane warned wincing in his own pain
"not the time Dad" she scoffed nursing her clearly broken hand
"i'm not fighting with you right now" Kane sighed as the pain started to settle in
"you're right" Leoni agreed stumbling over to the man but quickly fell when she reached his side
"oh my god Leoni!" Kane grabbed his daughter's face noticing her cracked head as black blood came pouring out of it
"what? what is it!" Leoni asked urgently lifting her hand and feeling when her father was nursing. when she brought her hand back to her vision and saw the blood she freaked out
"your head has been cracked open!" Kane observed pulling his daughter closer
"pain...the pains coming now" Leoni nodded squeezing her eyes shut
"tell me about it" Marcus gestures to the rock on his leg. there was a thick silence between the father and daughter
"we're gonna die down here" Leoni groaned clutching her wrist to her chest in utter agony
"no we're not someone will come down" Marcus assured
"Always the optimist"
"Yeah well my optimism about sending my only daughter to earth in the first place worked out well for you didn't it Leok" he mocked and then there was silence again as each Kane drowned in their own thoughts
"What happened to us" Leoni whispered but Marcus didn't reply straight away. He turned to look at her and his gaze seemed to relax.
