*Flashback*

"You did so well, Cupcake," she muttered into my ear while smoothing down the back of my hair. I coughed violently, slowing my sobbing down a little before beginning to hiccup. "You did so good."

We pulled away, looking between one another as my mother pounded against the door behind us. Our faces were inches apart, and I couldn't help but feel the same fluttering sensation within my chest. But this time I didn't ignore it--I breathed it in as Vi smiled lightly down at me. Bane and my mother snarled as they pounded their bodies against the door, rocking Vi and me apart some as we looked up at the lock beginning to break. Looking between one another a final time, we heard Claggor finally break through the wall and Mylo unlock the last cuff holding Vander. We each looked between one another, relief flooding our entire systems before--the door blew inwards.

*Present*

Vi and I flew backward, me further than her. Blue electricity crackled all around as my body slammed against the far wall before hitting the ground on my stomach. Pain waved me in and out of consciousness as the air grew thick all around. I looked up just as another wave blew out over us, and blue lightning crackled before striking me in the temple. I gasped and clutched hold of it, grimacing while letting out an inaudible scream. And then the roof came crashing down, pinning my body to the floor. Something dug into my right arm, pain wafting through it as something pinned my left cheek to the ground.

After a moment of silence and fighting against unconsciousness, I heard someone panting from in front of me. Slowly opening my eyes, I saw a man was looking around at everyone around us. There were two bodies hidden beneath rubble side by side, their arms and legs poking out here and there. And there was a pink-haired girl laying on her back, unmoving. Questions began to ring through my head left and right, but one seemed to stick out the most. Who were they, and what was I doing here?

From just over the man, I saw another frame slowly rise to its feet while shaking its head. This woman-like thing pushed a hand through her long hair that flowed freely around her shoulders now before her eyes turned down to the cat that was frozen at her feet. And, just like her, this animal was remarkably large and abnormally shaped. The woman let out a snarl as her body faced us, eyes slowly looking up and locking on me. I froze, my eyes looking with her gold and purple ones laced with black all around. What was that thing?

"Kill them," a man's voice coming from a source unknown snarled, and the woman roared as she began moving towards us. She moved as others around her began climbing to their feet, beginning to listen to the random order spat out to them. The large bulky man that was slowly lifting himself looked from me to the pink-haired girl, who was now awake and sobbing in pain.

The man groaned as he pushed the rubble off his back, getting to his feet as my vision began growing hazy. I squeezed my eyes shut, listening to the sound of metal hitting skin before a body hit the ground. But I didn't dare look--I didn't know what was happening. Didn't know what I was doing here. Whether I was going to die or not.

"Cupcake," a soft voice lulled my eyes open, and I looked over to see the girl had flipped onto her stomach with her hand reaching out to me. I began breathing heavily, reeling as far away as I could before crying out in pain and slumping to the ground. And then I heard a screech, turning upwards just in time to see the man double over another slim one. He had just been stabbed. The man pushed him over the railing, turning his eyes on us. But my vision was too blurry to understand who this figure was, or any of their physical details.

My eyes slipped, and soon I was opening them back up to see the woman from before lifting the metal sheet off the pink-haired girl with ease. She growled while tossing it to the side, looming over the girl's frame before suddenly--another large frame came from behind. Grabbing her, the man-beast thing held her against the wall just above the doorway of the room before pushing against her neck hard. Her feet kicked before going limp--dead.

I groaned as I rubbed my temple against the ground, leaving a streak of blood just as i heard feet clobber around me. Fire began to fall around us, a beam landing right beside me and burning my back a little. But I didn't move--I was losing all feeling in my body. I heard a roar before looking up, watching the man grab the pink-haired girl before leaping out of a hole in the side of the room--leaving me. Fire licked from above, and I looked up before gasping as it began falling down.

I screamed, throwing my head back as I began pushing myself up. The rubble holding me down began moving and I jerked my legs free before stumbling out of the burning room. My face was hot, my arm seared black and unmoving as I crumbled between the woman's large body and the jaguar that were dead. And then I heard boots from ahead, slowly looking up. A man had his hands tucked behind his back with another coming up from behind, his face hot and burned with the smell of melting skin following him.

"Who--who are you?" I croaked out as my vision began blacking out again.

"Take her in, Singed," the man with a discolored black and orange eye mumbled with a tilt of his head. "I want her."

My eyes rolled to the back of my head before I slumped to the ground--falling into unconsciousness at last.
