Sunday night at about 12, there's a commotion.
Jude enters the room in panic. "Harley, what the fuck?"
I look up from my laptop at her, raising my eyebrows. "What?" I ask her.
"Are you fucking telling me that you haven't seen it yet?" Before I can reply, she takes three strides across the room to reach me. Tapping on her phone screen, she shoves it in my face. I look at her, then at her phone.
My eyes widen at the picture in front of me.
Someone's clicked an image of the vent wall. There's a single sentence written in black paint all over the wall. A single sentence which I guess has already become the talk amongst the student body.
It's been uploaded on the public forum by an anonymous person. I almost want to go down to the wall to see it all by myself. If people begin talking about this, then my reputation at this school worsens.
"Is this true?" Jude asks me again. She says something after that as well but her voice fades away as a specific memory takes over me in an instant.
With a heavy breath, I read the same sentence over and over again.
'Harley Kingsley is a fucking defamer.'
A part of me hates this. I don't want to remember this. The other part of me tells me that I deserve this. That this is just the beginning. Things were going to take a sudden, scandalous turn now and it feels like it's going to be fun.
The feeling of excitement in me only seems to grow day by day and at this point, I know.
I know that I'm not afraid to fall.
