Chapter 26

3rd Person

Where is Navraj? It's 9 pm and he's still not home.

"Isha" Roop entered her sister's room, crying.

"Roop, what happened? Why are you crying?" Isha panicked. It was rare for Roop to cry. Very rare.

"Bhabz" Manny, Divraj, and Harseerat also entered the room. Seerat was also crying.

"Will someone say something?!" Isha shouted.

Why would they all be crying?!

"Navi" was all Manny said.

That's why he isn't home. Where could he be?

"What happened to Navi?" Isha asked. Tears were blurring her vision.

"He got into an accident" Divraj whimpered.

Her world came crashing down on top of her.

She fell to the ground. An unknown sob escaped her mouth. Roop hugged her older sister and Isha cried on her shoulder.

"I can't live without him" sha cried. "Take me to him"

Roop helped Isha up and took her outside. Thankfully her in-laws were with her parents.

They took her to the hospital so she could see her husband. 

Waheguru, keep my Navraj safe. I can't live without him.

"Where can we find Navraj Singh?" Manny asked the receptionist.

"In the 400 hallway," the receptionist gave them a small smile.

Isha ran to the hall and saw Sukhman, Avneet, and Prabhjot pacing.

"What happened?" Roop asked them. The three men shook their heads.

Arsh ran into the hall. He panicked when he saw Isha.

"What happened to my husband?" Isha grabbed her brother's collar.

"Jija told me not to tell you" Arsh stuttered.

"I don't care about what he said. I'm your older sister and I'm ordering you to tell me" Isha said through bloodshot eyes.

Jija will kill me if he finds out I told Ishi, Arsh thought.

"I'll tell you" Avneet sighed. Isha let go of Arsh's collar and looked at Avneet.

"It was all Inder and Jasnoor. They hired a trucker and..." he almost cried. If Isha found out the entire truth, she would break more than already.

"The doctors aren't saying anything. But he's a fighter. He'll be fine" Prabhjot assured Isha.

Isha fell onto the seat and began crying.

Jaspreet found out what happened and ran to the other side of the hospital.

"Ishu" Seerat sobbed. Isha hugged Seerat and they cried on each other's shoulders.

"What happened to Navi?" Harpreet also arrived with the other family.

"How is Navraj?" His father asked with bloodshot eyes.

Kamaljit knew what Isha was going through. She had been through it himself.

Kamaljit put his hand on Seerat's shoulder and she pulled away from Isha.

Kamal embraced Isha like no tommorow.
