'Say again?'

He moved towards the statue of my mother, circling it. A low whimper escaped and pain was evident in his eyes. 'When I met your mother, she had explained the situation with Lycaon. It was hard for me and my wolf to accept the fact she had slept with Lycaon. Yet our bound was strong enough, too strong to be fair for us to take it slow. She ended up sneaking off in the middle of the night, to come find me over here. One thing led to another..' His tail wagging, I grimaced.

'Gross.'

'When I learned she was pregnant, rage consumed me. I thought you were Lycaons offspring, I was too angry and stubborn to listen to her. So I disappeared, hungry for blood. I wanted to kill Lycaon for what he had done to my mate, and I wanted to kill you.'

'Yet here I am alive.' I challenged, crossing my arms in front of my chest. If he wanted to kill me now, I would give every bit of remaining strength. I wasn't going to let Kena down, I promised to return.

'Don't worry. I am not planning on killing you.' His voice echoed through my head. 'I wasn't able to find Lycaon, I had found Cyllene. I tracked her behavior and learned of the attack. But I was too weak, being away from your mate is the only thing that could weaken me and apparently your mother too.' He sounded upset, guilt laced his voice.

'I returned to Lycosura, praying she would come see me. I could feel her pain, so that night I sneaked inside the building. When I reached her room, she was holding you in her arms.' His gaze held love as he met mine. 'The minute I entered the room, she snarled at me to get away. At first anger had controlled me, I had wanted to kill you for not being mine. But you turned towards me and your eyes lit up. Exactly like mine.'

Slowly the puzzle pieces fell in its place. My mother mate, a white wolf and blue eyes like mine. 'You are.. my father?' I hesitated to ask the question.

'I internally smacked myself for not listening to Deianira sooner, two Lycans, two Gods couldn't get pregnant by just a regular wolf or Lycan. She had tried to explain it to me, but I was too stubborn to listen.' He sighed.

'How did she kill you then?'

He tilted his head, 'After that night she had send me away, promised to talk to me. Little did I know that Cyllene had planned her attack on Lycosura. Someone brought you to safety and Deianira sacrificed herself for you. No matter how strong I was, my mate was the thing that killed me. I was the one that failed her.'

I felt a flash of pain slice through me at the thought that my mother sacrificed herself for me. I was the reason she died, I fell to my knees. He carefully approached me, his snout pressing against my cheek. 'She loves you, very much. She is part of you, just like I am. I am sure we both wished to be able to watch you grow in the gorgeous woman you are now. I am sure she would have loved your stubbornness.'

I bet she would have loved that, 'I want to revenge her. I need you to teach me how to get into my Lycan state.' I said firmly, looking deep into his eyes. He tilted his head, he seemed to hesitate but eventually he nodded his head.

A groan escaped me as I stood, another pain wave hit me. His worried gaze met mine, 'How long have you been away from your mate?'

I frowned, counting back the days. 'I don't know, four weeks?' I knew I had been away too long and I feared Kena her state. I had stubbornly ignored the pain flashes, I had tried to suppress the feelings of pain but I didn't have much strength left.

'I don't know if you are strong enough to get into your Lycan state. Your mate, once you completed the bound, is the only thing that can weaken or even kill you in this state.' His voice entered my mind.
