Chapter 53: Are You Awake?

Annabeth's pov

"I'll start putting the report in tomorrow," Luciano says, pulling into my driveway. I need to throw these clothes out because there's too much blood on them. The most important thing was that this mission was successful. It almost wasn't but thankfully it was.

Someone was stealing all of our shipments and giving them to an unknown seller. On all the marks they kept saying A.B.C with a skull on it. I need to get rid of these people asap they are fucking with everything. Luciano, Achilles and I have been working on it for months and still nothing.

Val's looked into it but he's found nothing. This is the last mission I can go on until the baby comes. Most of the time I stood in the van tapping into the inside cameras warning anyone of someone who was too close. Someone decided to try to break into the van but a quick bullet to the head did them justice.

"How's val?" Luciano asks I sigh, running my hands through my hair. "I don't know anytime I bring it up he changes the topic. He has another appointment tomorrow. I have my 5 month check up next week. I've been focused on him more than anything else"

"You know you shouldn't have came today right"

"I know but it's my last one. I've been picking up all of Val's work too it's a lot"

"Anna it's okay you know i'm here for anything"

"I know thank you"

"I love you Anna"

"I love you more Luci" I go inside honey and sliver circling my feet. I pet them, giving them both a treat before going to check on the boys. Ares is full of sweat. I change his pajamas, turning the air conditioner on low. "Mama?" He turns in my arms, opening his eyes. "Yeah baby i'm here" He gives me a small smile resting his head on my chest as he sleeps.

I bring him with me to the twins room making sure they're good before putting him back in his crib. I wonder if Val is sleeping? It's late. I wouldn't hold it against him. His treatments have gotten a lot more intense but I make sure I'm there with him for every single one of them.

The bathroom door is open. I sigh, putting my things down going inside. His face in the toilet as he throws up yet again. I sit next to him rubbing his back letting him know I'm here. He sits back catching his breath flushing the toilet. "Do you want water?" He shakes his head no.

"I'm fine Anna just go to bed"

"Val you were just throwing up"

"Anna I said i'm fine" He stand rines his mouth with water throwing some on his face.

"Val it's okay"

"Annabeth I said I'm fine" I took a step back just looking at him. He hasn't said my full name since the wedding. No one calls me by my full name unless it's serious. No one does. I feel the anger rise in the blood.

"You are not okay Valentino. You have fucking cancer. You can fucking die do you not understand that?! At any moment you could be gone. You think this is only affecting you? I am your wife for heaven's sake I see you slipping away from me each day that passes. Our kids you don't think they notice? Vittiorio asked, ''Is daddy okay? Why does daddy look like a ghost? Vico asking why are you alway so tired? I have to be there to pick up the pieces, not you. For more you want to avoid this, we can't."

"You don't fucking think I know that Annabeth. You don't understand the fear I have inside of me knowing I can sleep and not wake up. The fear of leaving you and the kids behind. I'm giving this all I got but you are not helping me"
