To say Santi is a patient man, he isn't. We've been waiting for his doctor to turn up for about ten minutes and he was already getting fed up. He's saying he's absolutely fine but I didn't want to let it slide and decided to do a check-up for him.
"I told you we could've just gone to the hotel to finish-"
"Mi amor, will just sit still and wait for the doctor? Stop stressing." I walk towards him as he was sitting on the hospital bed, my fingers playing with his hair and my lips turn into a small smile. "You're always like this, do you know that?" I whisper to him only making him chuckle deeply.
"I hate hospitals." He murmurs in the crook of my neck and placed a small gentle kiss on it.
"It's only a check-up, Santi. I just want to make sure there is nothing wrong with your wound." I tell him. He sighs and I could feel the smile creep up on his lips as he lifts his head.
"And you're always like this too."
His fingers make circles on my back, calming my nerves down and reassuring me that he's fine. We stay like this for a while, I admire the way he holds me - with such tenderness and adoration.
"Mr and Mrs Valiente. It's nice to see you again." Pulling apart, his family doctor walks in with a clipboard and a friendly smile. "Santiago I've lost count of how many times you've come here just so I can check your wound."
I raise my brows at them and all Santi does is shrug. "He's got shot multiple times?" I question.
"Shot, hm I would say a few times but there have been times as a child where he got hurt. He was a naughty child." The doctor chuckles as he speaks, I shamelessly smile at Santi who was hating that I love hearing about this.
"Can you just check my wound, Jorge?"
"Alright big boy-"
"I'm not a big-"
"Sit still big boy," I smirk at Santi as Jorge lifts his shirt up. I notice his cheeks redden slightly yet his eyes look at me with lasciviousness.
Jorge clears his throat and starts checking around his bandage, making Santi and I look away and down at his movements. "Right, it looks like the wound is healing quite quickly which is a good thing, especially after all the walking you've been doing. Did you forget that I told you to bed rest, Santi?"
"That's what I've been telling him for the past week or so."
"And he still doesn't listen to anyone. But your recovery seems to be going well. Just try not to go on any missions or attacks for now otherwise your stitches could open." Jorge relieves us or well me. I let out a huge sigh, flashing a smile at Santi who also looked so relieved.
"How long till he can fight?" I ask him.
"Max two weeks. I would say to continue walking because it will now help with the recovery. His blood seems to be fine and the painkillers are helping. Just take them whenever you feel a lot of pain,"
"Great, gracias Jorge."
"I'll see you soon. Take care Santi and Reina. Oh and say hola to your parents." He shakes hands with Santi and gives me a small nod before leaving us alone again.
He stands me between his legs, pulling me close with just one arm and closing the gap between us. I hold onto his shoulders for grip, "Are you happy now?" He whispers against my lips.
"I'm so relieved Santi. All I wanted was for you to be okay." I kiss him slowly, so reluctant to pull away because right now I just want to be in his arms. There's nothing more that I want but to see Santi doing just fine. Whether it's his gun wound or his thoughts, seeing him untroubled is all that matters to me.
