In the dark and gloomy hall, where smell of flesh and blood pervaded, sound of heavy breathing laced with anger, was the only thing that could be heard amidst the uneasy silence.

Seated on the throne, decked in gold and bone ornaments Kumukh, the king this Danavas was fuming by what the bruised Asur in front of him had just said about the warrior who resisted them in Kanchipuram.

"Tum ek Yuvak se haar gaye ?" He asked gritting his teeth.

"W-Woh divya pratit hota tha." The danav in front of him said.

"KAYAR HO TUM ! NAPUNSAK HO ! JO EK KANYA KO ABHI TAK NAHI LAA PAYE !" Kumukh burst into rage.

He picked his sword, got up from the throne and stomped towards the already scared Asur. With one swings, beaheads him for his incompetence.

Kumukh sighs cleaning the sword, and that's when he hears footsteps coming towards him. He looked up and saw the great sage, none other than Asur Guru Shukracharya.

"Pranaam Asur-guru." Kumukh joined his hands and bowed.

"Vaasna se ghrasit hoke tum apne hi annt ki oor badh rahe ho, Kumukh. Veer yoddha Bhargav ne tumhe ek avsar diya hai, sambhal jaao." Shukracharya said.

"Woh hota kaun hai mujhe avsar dene wala !? Mai Danav-raj Kumukh hu !" He said in an offended tone of voice.

"Aadar se naam lo unka Kumukh. Woh koi sadharan yoddha nahi hai. Bhargav swayam Shreeshaktiswar ke avatar hai. Ek kshan mei tumhara annt kardenge." Shukracharya said.

"Shreeshaktiswar ? Unhe toh shraap mila hai ! Ek shrapit devta, mera kya bigaad lega ?" Kumukh laughed.

"Bhargav ne jo akele tumhare Danav seniko ke vadh kiya, kya use bhul gaye ?" Shukracharya asked.

"Mutthi bhar Danavo ka vadh karne se koi mahan nahi ban jata. Iss baar Mai badi sena bhejunga. Aur yadi kuch na huya toh swayam yudh karne jaayunga. Chahe jo ho, uss Damini ko praapt karke rahunga." Kumukh said.

"Yuddheshwar ko yudh hetu chunauti dega ? Arrey murkh ! Kyu apni Mata Danu ke netro mei ashru lana chahte ho ?" Shukracharya said.

"Mata Danu ki chinta aap mat kijiye, chinta karni hai toh uss Jalandhar ki kijiye. Jo Devi Parvati se mohit ho swayam Mahadev ko apna shatru bana baitha hai." Kumukh said.

"Jalandhar ka annt toh ab nishchit hai, iss liye tumhe chaitah raha hu ki Vaasna ke bandhan se mukt ho jaao." Shukracharya said and then left.

Kumukh scoffed, he was not ready to take the advice of his Guru, that was only meant for his welfare. He turned back and looked at his Danav ministers.

"Danavo ki sena ka ek chauthai (1/4th) bhaag ikattha karo aur kal raatri ko yeh Kanchipuram par akraman karengi. Dekhte hai ki 3000 Danavo ko kaise parajit kar payega, yeh Bhargav." Kumukh said.

Jaha Guru ka adar nahi hota, waha vinaash hota hai. And unlike what serials show, Shukracharya was a very revered sage in Vedic era.

In those times politics were guided by three schools of thoughts. Kings either followed the text of Manu, Brihaspati or Shukracharya.

And Jalandhar ka story mei hum detail mei nahi jayenge, cause timeline mei fit nahi ho raha tha. That's why I just briefly mentioned it jisse sabko pata chale ki ha huya hai yeh event.
