The sun had set down in the city of Kanchipuram. Damini was with few ladies around her age, as they all came back from fetching water.
"Damini, tum atyant saubhagyavati ho jo Kumar Bhargav ke itne nikat rehti ho." One of them said causing a small smile to appear on her face.
"Pata nahi tum kaise reh leti ho unke itne paas.... Kumar Bhargav ki ek jhalak dekh mai toh mugdh ho jaati hu." Another one swooned. Damini frowned at her.
"Meri toh shwaas hi ruk jaati hai." Other one joked.
"Lajja nahi aati kya tumhe aisi baat karte huye ? Brahmachari hai woh." Damini said.
"Jo Kanya unka Brahmacharya tode woh atyant Bhagyavaan hogi." Another woman said causing all except Damini to giggle.
"Nahi tutega unka Brahmacharya ! Unke jeevan mei kisi parayi stree hetu koi sthaan nahi ! Unhone swayam mujhse kaha tha !" Damini said sternly and walked away from the ladies, keeping them wondering what made her so annoyed. The thought of Bhargav breaking his Brahmacharya ? Or that it won't be broken by her ?
Reaching the house she found Bhargav sitting on the cot while sharpening the blade of his sword. Only they both were at the house at the moment as Padmamukh had gone to teach while Aparna would be performing her evening rituals.
"Kumar Bhargav ?" Damini approached him and he looked at her.
"Kya roopvati stree ko dekh ek Brahmachari tut sakta hai ?" She asked.
"Achanak yeh prashn ?" He frowned.
"Kripiya uttar de." Damini said.
"Yadi kaam indriyo par niyantran na ho toh bade se bade tapasviyo ka bhi Brahmacharya tut sakta hai. Brahmarishi Vishwamitra ka bhi tuta tha jab Indra ne unki pariksha li thi Menka ko bhej ke." Bhargav said.
"Yadi Indra aapki pariksha le toh ?" She asked.
"Indriyo ki pariksha lena toh Indra ka karya hai. Aur Devtao ki pariksha mei safal hona ya asafal huye toh usse seekh lena, humara karya hai." Bhargav said.
"Toh kya kisi apsara ko dekh aapka bhi Brahmacharya tut sakta hai ?" Damini asked furrowing her brows.
"Nahi. Meri kaam indriyo par mera niyantran hai." Bhargav said and she took a sigh of relief.
But suddenly Damini was pulled aside by Bhargav, as an arrow came and landed in front of them. She gasped seeing it and a note tied around it.
Bhargav picked up the arrow and opened the note, reading it his jaw clenched as he threw it on the ground, grabbed his sword and stomping out.
Damini got worried as to what made him leave with such anger. She picked up the note that came with the arrow and gulped reading it.

Damini ko mujhe, arthat Danav-raj Kumukh ko saup do. Agar iss aadesh ki avahelna ki toh sampurn Kanchipuram Danavo ke krodh ki agni mei jal bhasm ho jayega.
Yadi andhakar hone se poorv uss kanya ko nahi saupa gaya, toh yaha ka koi bhi niwasi kal ka Suryoday nahi dekh payega. Meri prachand sena, nagar ke mukhya dwaar par pratiksha kar rahi hai.
