Peri giggled as Pearl lifted him over her head. Her face hurt from all the smiling she'd been doing these past few weeks. Look at her son. Pride wasn't enough to describe that bubbly feeling inside of her every time she looked at him. There was so much more inside her.

Every inch of him was so perfect. His little paws and feet, his chubby cheeks, his bright eyes. He'd grown so much from that fuzzy little bundle he'd been at birth. Soon, he'd likely be bigger than his uncle. But that day was far in the future. For now, he could just be her sweet baby boy who cooed and beamed lovingly at her when he was swung back down from the sky and into his mother's arms. He was the most precious thing in her life, and she would've risked it all for him, no questions asked.
