saylor

a few days after we signed the contract with laura, it was jessie's birthday.

yesterday was thursday, meaning we got to use one of the studios at sony music entertainment. none of us had ever had access to equipment like that, so we mainly just messed around with everything. jessie was more into the producing aspect of it. she had produced the songs we put on soundcloud, but that was done on her laptop, so this was definitely exciting for her.

anyways.

jessie rented out a huge airbnb for her birthday party. they invited what seems like everyone they've ever met. even their brother and childhood best friend came all the way from los angeles.

lemme just say that jordan is just as fine as jessie is.

and he's a doctor, so there's that too.

no, let me correct that: he's a surgeon.

"nah, this shit is making me feel old. how the fuck is she twenty-six years old now?" jordan shook his head. he glanced over at jessie, but he quickly looked away. "jesus fucking christ," he muttered, which made me laugh loudly.

they currently had a drink in their hand as they threw it back on some girl.

"they are... something else," i laughed as i shook my head.

"for sure," he chuckled. "she's always getting into something. regardless, i'll always be their number one supporter. i'm so proud of them."

i looked up at him, and i couldn't help the smile that came to my face at the look of pure admiration and adoration on his face.

it must be nice to have such a good relationship with your sibling.

"wait, where the fuck is my nic?!" we heard jessie slur loudly over the music that was playing throughout the house. "i need my nic, bruh!"

jordan sucked his teeth. "never-mind, i don't claim her; if anybody asks, she's not my sister," he joked as he shook his head, which made me let out another loud laugh.

"this is matthew!" jessie introduced me to her childhood best friend with a drunken grin as she leaned into his side with her head on his chest. "matty, this is saylor!"

"it's nice to meet you," matthew greeted with a smile. i noticed how he kept an arm around jessie to keep her standing upright.

matthew isn't a bad looking guy. he's a tall, lanky white dude with brown, fluffy hair. his eyes are a kind, warm brown.

the kind of dude that straight women go crazy for.

"it's nice to meet you too," i smiled as well.

"matty is great," jj gave a nod. they then pouted. "he went and got married though, so i never see him anymore!"

"shouldn't you be happy for him?" i asked with a chuckle.

at the same time, matthew said "you're the one who moved all the way across the country!"

jess pouted even more. "shut up," they told matthew before they turned to me. "i am happy for him, pookie! i just miss him. his wife is really sweet though. pretty too! i love daisy."

i shook my head at her. "well, he's always just a phone call away."

"you know i am," matthew agreed. he kissed the top of her head. "now, let's get you some water, okay?"
