two days before our show, laura managed to get us an interview. it's with some youtuber who interviews up and coming artists. before the interview, laura had a meeting with us.

"i know the four of you have had no pr training at all, but please, don't fuck this up," laura gave a sigh. "i'm trusting you; don't break that trust."

she looked between us all. "before you answer a question, i need you to think a few things. 'will this make laura mad?' 'will i regret saying this?' 'can this or the way i phrase this be turned against me?' i think those questions will help you avoid messing this up."

miguel's brows furrowed a bit. "the way i phrase this?" he repeated.

"yes. trust me, the media will take advantage of what you say and how you phrase it, and they will use it against you," she warned.

anyways, we're now at the interview.

"alright, welcome shattered. it's lovely to meet you all and have you here," the interviewer started with a grin. "first off, let's introduce you properly. who are the members of shattered, and what role do they play in the band?"

"i'm alex, and i'm the lead guitarist and the lead vocalist," i gave a small smirk.

"i'm saylor. i'm the rhythm guitarist, and i also sing."

"jessie; i play the drums," they grinned.

miguel raised his hand. "i'm miguel, and i'm the bassist."

"lovely. now, who does the song writing? is it just one of you, or is it a group effort?" the interviewer tilted his head.

"alex does a lot of the writing. they're always coming up with a lot of the lyrics," miguel answered. "there are a few songs that they've written completely by their-self, but for the most part, we all pitch in bits and pieces of the song."

the interviewer nodded. "right, right. i assume that's the same with the actual music itself? not just the lyrics?"

we all agreed. the interviewer continued. "okay. does the band get along well?" he raised a brow with a bit of a smile.

i opened my mouth to speak, but jessie was quick to talk over me. "we wouldn't be here right now if we didn't, right?" they answered with a bit of a chuckle. both miguel and saylor seemed relieved.

"you have a point," the interviewer laughed. "but... that wasn't always the case though, hm? i heard that you used to have a different rhythm guitarist. what happened there?"

"creative differences," miguel spoke up. he wrapped an arm around saylor's shoulders, and my eyes slightly narrowed. "there's no bad blood there. saylor has fit in perfectly since she joined though, and i feel that we've grown as a band since then."

"i'm glad to hear that. okay, i'm curious; what is each of your hometowns? have you all had a chance to play in your hometown?"

"we've only played in new york," i told him. "but i was born in raised in new york city, so i've clearly had the chance to play in my hometown."

"oh, really? well, i'm still curious; where are you three's hometown?"

"miami, florida," miguel gave a small nod.

"henderson, nevada," saylor said.

"los angeles, california," jessie said with a grin.

the interviewer kissed his teeth. "los angeles? get out of here," he teased. "no, but... that's interesting; none of you are from a small town or anything. okay, i think we've introduced the four of you well, so let's move on to music. i wanna know, what first got you into music?"
