saylor

i groaned lowly as i woke up with a pounding headache. i froze for a moment as i quickly realized that i wasn't wearing any clothes and that there was someone else in the bed with me.

jessie.

flashes from last night played through my head. some moments were more detailed than others, but we're not going to get into that.

oh, fuck.

fuck.

fuck.

i glanced over at jessie. she was still sleeping soundly and was completely unbothered. they were facing away from me as they slept on their stomach with one leg pulled up. their arms were crossed under their pillow.

it's giving... bottom.

though, last night would definitely prove otherwise.

i rubbed at my face as i sat up. before anything else, i got up to get my clothes back on. after i did, i quietly left the room. once i exited the room, i glanced down the hallway. my brows furrowed together as i squinted my eyes.

is alex just... sleeping on the floor? in the middle of the hallway? what the fuck?

you know what, i'm not even going it question it. it seems like me and jessie weren't the only ones who did some... questionable things last night.

i silently walked away. i made my way to the room that my things was in. i grabbed a fresh pair of clothing out of my suitcase, as well as my shampoo, conditioner, soap, and blow dryer. once i had all of that, i made my way into the bathroom to get a shower.

after my shower, i got dressed and dried my hair. after that, i walked back to the room jessie was in. i knocked softly before i entered it. once i got a "come in," i opened the door. i walked in, closed the door behind me, and leaned against it as i still held the doorknob.

"so, uh, about last night," i started to say awkwardly.

sensing my hesitation to talk about it, jessie gave a soft, reassuring smile. "hey, if you want to just forgot about it or whatever, that's fine. what happens in the airbnb stays in the airbnb," they stated with a stupid grin.

i let out a laugh as i shook my head. "yeah, that would probably be best. i just don't want things to be awkward between us."

"nah, it won't be. don't worry," she assured. "at least, i won't make things awkward; this is a two way street."

"i won't either," i gave a nod.

"wait, i can still call you pookie or whatever, right?" her eyes widened slightly.

i giggled. "yeah, of course," i then held up my index and ring finger as i crossed them. "me and you? we're like this," i joked.

"for-lifers," she gave another grin as she giggled too.

she moved to sit on the edge of the bed. they sat with their legs folded under them. "here, c'mere," they gestured me over.

i raised a brow, but i did so anyways. once i was in front of them, they lifted a hand to gently hold the side of my neck. her thumb ghosted over the hickeys she left there last night. "sorry about these," she smiled sheepishly. "i don't know anything about using makeup or whatever to cover these up, but i could let you wear my hoodie? you could wear the hood up and tie it."

"yeah, i'ma need that; i didn't bring anything to cover them," i let out a small laugh.

they dropped their hand. "alright, lemme get it for you," they glanced around the room. "uh... after i find the room that my suitcase is in..."

roughly an hour later, everybody is in the kitchen, except for alex. jj and miggy are standing in front of the stove as they cooked breakfast for everyone together. matthew and jordan were leaning against the counter as they murmured quietly to each other. i was sitting at the counter with my arms crossed on top of the counter so that i could lay my head in my arms.

a while had passed before alex walked in here. i discreetly glanced at them. their short hair was a mess on their head; it was the epitome of bedhead. they looked as if they had just woke up, which they most likely had just woke up.

as always, they seemed to be in a bad mood. they sat down at the opposite end of the counter, which left three stools in between us. they propped their head in their hand with a yawn.

i paid them no mind as jessie sat a plate of food in front of me. i sat up as i smiled. "thank you."

"of course, pookie," she grinned as she walked back over to the stove. as she did, i started to eat my food.

god damn. this is fucking heavenly.

i wonder if jj and miggy would let me hire them as my chefs?

a few minutes later, jessie sat a plate in front of alex as well. "here you go."

"hm," alex hummed in a disinterested tone.

my brows furrowed. i cut my eyes at them.

rude as fuck and for what?

"oh, yes, you're welcome; i'm glad to have cooked for you," jess muttered.

"thanks," alex huffed. i rolled my eyes at them.

another while passed as i continued to eat. eventually, miguel and jessie sat down with their plates. miguel sat next to alex and jessie sat next to me.

"so, what do you think?" jessie subtly gestured to my (now almost empty) plate of food. she had a hint of a cocky smirk on her lips.

"it's alright," i shrugged. when their jaw dropped some, i laughed. "i'm kidding. this shit is divine, dude. it's so fucking good."

"that's what i thought!" they huffed with a playful smile.

"you tryna come cook for me all the time? i'll pay you," i teased.

suddenly, alex pushed their chair back, and they stood up. their stool scraped against the floor loudly. everybody looked at them with furrowed brows as they patted their pockets, then groaned. they walked away.

my brows scrunched together as i tilted my head and watched them completely leave the kitchen. i scoffed as i turned back towards my plate. "the fuck is their problem?"

"i don't know. they've been an ass all morning," jess scoffed too as she aggressively stabbed her fork into her food. "no one has done shit to them."

my eyes widened a bit at their tone. jordan leaned across the counter as he tilted his head. "yeah, but... isn't that just alex?"

i watched as jj's jaw clenched. "yeah, but... not to me," she muttered as she suddenly pushed her stool back as well. they left their plate on the counter as they exited the kitchen too. the four of us watched with furrowed brows.

"i'll check on her in a bit; don't worry about them," jordan gave a small smile. "but right now, i'm fucking this shit up," he mumbled before he took a bite of his food.

i glanced at the entrance to the kitchen with a slight frown. i let out a sigh.

what a wonderful start to the morning.
