"Look, we Need this job." Mando sighed as he climbed up the ladder Into the cockpit.

I sighed just as heavily as I followed after him. "I know we need this job, Mando. But you've told me about these people, are you sure this is the right move?"

"Yes...we need the credits. It's just a quick job, it should be fine." Mando said as he sat down in the pilot's chair and dropped us out of hyperspace.

"Should be. That's not reassuring in our business." I muttered as I sat down behind him. The child cooed as the two of us continued to argue with each other. He never liked it when we argued about something.

A large ship hanger came into view as Mando steered us towards the place where we were meeting his old crew. He had told me a bit about the time he had spent with them, and from what I had heard, they were not good people.

The crest slowly entered the hangar and landed in an empty landing space. I sighed to myself again, I really wasn't eager to do this.

"We'll leave the kid here." Mando said as he stood from his chair and carefully lifted up the child. He walked out of the cockpit and disappeared from view as he descended the ladder.

"No, I thought we'd take the child with us to meet your horrible bounty hunter friends." I muttered sarcastically as I stood up and followed him down the ladder.

Once I had descended the ladder, Mando was slowly lowering the ramp. I walked over and stood next to him as we waited for the ramp to fully open.

"Stay close to me, okay?" He said to me

"Fine. But you know I can handle myself, right?" I said quietly in return. Even though I appreciate him trying to look out for me, I'm still a very capable fighter.

"I know." Mando replied before he walked ahead and began to descend the ramp.

I followed after him and the two of us began to walk through the busy hangar. People stared at us as they walked past, mostly at Mando. I fidgeted uncomfortably with my hands as we continued to be scrutinized by passing hunters and mechanics.

"Mando." A man Said. I turned my head to the left and saw an old, bearded man walking towards us.

"Is that you under that bucket?" The man said as he held his hand out to Mando.

"Ran." Mando greeted

"I didn't really know if I'd ever see you in these parts again." Ran said, he then shifted his eyes over and saw me.

"And who might this be?" He asked with an inquisitive stare.

"This is, Celeste. My...partner." Mando said. He hesitated for a moment as he introduced me, though I don't know why. "Celeste, this is Ran."

I mustered up a smile and nodded to the man. "Pleasure to meet you. Didn't think you wanted to work with anyone." Ran said to Mando. "I thought you worked alone."

"I used to." Mando said, not giving much away.

Ran nodded and placed his hand on Mando's back, ushering him to walk with him. I trailed alongside Mando, making sure to stay close to his side.

"You know, to be honest, I was a little surprised when you reached out to me. You know, cause I...I hear things. Like, maybe things between you and the guild aren't working out." Ran said

"We'll be fine." Mando said

"Okay. Well, you know the policy. No questions. And you, you're welcome back here anytime." Ran ushered us to follow him through the hangar.
