Deja vu

The stones crunched gently beneath my boots as I made my way down the path towards my new home. Pierce walked alongside me, for such a large man he walked soundlessly. His long strides were difficult to keep up with, but it was nothing I wasn't used to.

"Do you remember the first time I taught you how to shoot?" Pierce suddenly broke the silence that had fallen over the two of us.

"Yeah, and I shot out that woman's window, what was her name again?" I asked with a small laugh

"Pala Vondin. She was an...angry little woman." Pierce said with a loud laugh. I couldn't help but join in with a laugh of my own as I thought back to that day. The way the short, older woman came storming out of her house with a blaster in her hands. The blaster was most definitely too big for her, and possibly weighed far more than necessary for a woman of her stature. She had threatened to shoot me for the damage I had done when I was only nine years old.

"She sure was." I laughed heartily. The two of us came to a stop right outside of my new front door. I could hear Grogu faintly cooing from inside. Pierce whipped his head to look at me when he heard the noise.

"It's just Grogu." I explained, making sure he new that I had only one kid. He nodded in understanding at that and I pressed the button on the panel to open the door.

The door hissed open to reveal Grogu sitting on the floor, using the force to float a throw pillow in the air in front of him. I smiled softly at him and then glanced around the room for any sign of Din. I went to call on him but before I could, he walked around the corner dressed head to toe in his usual beaker armor.

His head tilted as he glanced between myself and Pierce, I always found it adorable when he did that, like a confused puppy. Pierce came to stand by my side and I couldn't help but notice how he straightened his back and raised his shoulders slightly.

"Umm, Din. This is Pierce. He's the man who basically raised me. Pierce, this is Din, my husband." I introduced the two men to each other.

Din took a few steps forward and held his hand out towards Pierce. Pierce stared down at his outstretched hand for a moment before he firmly grasped his hand and shook it firmly.

"It's an honor to meet you." Din said politely

"Yeah, you too." Pierce nodded in an almost awkward manner.

My attention was shifted from the two men as I felt a small hand grab onto my ankle. I looked down to see Grogu staring up at me with his little arms raised in the air. I smiled gently and bent down to pick him up.

"And this is Grogu." I said as I turned to Pierce. The man looked down at the small green child with a look of surprise and slight confusion. He then got a mischievous look in his eyes as he glanced between Grogu and me.

"Nah, I don't see the resemblance." He said, I could hear the amusement in his laugh at his attempt at a joke.

"Stop. You know he's not biologically mine." I said with a laugh as I rolled my eyes at him.

"So, what brings you to Nevarro?" Din asked him

"Nothing good." Pierce said in a more grave tone.

"We just fought the Empire." Din sighed heavily as he paced across the floor of our new bedroom.

"I know, but he needs my help. I can't leave him alone with the Empire on his trail. Who knows what could happen if they got their hands on this sith holocron." I explained as I followed him with my eyes.

"What even is it?" Din asked

"It contained information. Information that only dark side users can access. I don't know what's in it exactly, but surely it can't be good." I said. I sighed softly and sat down on the edge of the bed that was centered in the room.
