The plan

Boba Fett's ship swerved from left to right as he chased after an imperial ship. This ship happened to be carrying some important cargo, not the child unfortunately, but a certain Dr Pershing.

I grunted as my body was shoved to the side by the force of Boba turning left. I took my blaster out of my holster and looked over it, my eyes immediately fell on a scuff mark on the handle from when I had dropped it. From when they had taken the child.

I ran my thumb across the scratch before I placed it back in my holster, it didn't look like there was anything else wrong with it.

The ship took another couple of sharp turns before we slowed down. I glanced up as Din quickly stood from his chair. He looked down at me and nodded his head once, I nodded in return with the slight upturn of my lips.

The ship thudded heavily, letting us know that we had docked onto the imperial ship. I stood up from my chair and followed Din as he walked over to the hatch. He bent down and pulled the lever to open up the hatch.

Din lowered his legs down into the hole to prepare himself to jump. He looked up at me again before he jumped down into the hole. I lowered myself down after him and hopped down. My knees bent as I fell as quietly as I could.

I quickly stepped out of the way as Cara jumped down behind me. I wasn't eager to have her fall on top of me. The two of us walked towards the cockpit where Din already was.

I heard a man gasp loudly as I walked over to the cockpit. I stepped through the door and came to stand on Din's right side, my blaster was raised in front of me at the imperial officers. Cara was standing by his left side with her blaster raised as well. The men in front of us immediately tensed up.

"Stay back, dropper." One of the officers said

"Easy, pal. Okay? I'm not with him. We can work something out." The other officer said. Seconds after he spoke, the other officer moved his blaster away from Dr Pershing and shot him in the head. I tightened my grip on my blaster to try and stop myself from flinching at the sudden noise. The man's body fell directly in front of me and I kept my eyes averted.

"Drop your weapon." Din said

"No, no, you listen to me. This is a top-tier target of the New Republic. This is a clone engineer. And if they find out that he's dead because of you, you're gonna wish you never left Alderaan." The officer said. I felt confused for a brief second before I realised he was talking to Cara.

"I saw the tear. You wanna know what else I saw? I saw your planet destroyed. I was on the Death Star." The Officer taunted

"Which one?" Cara asked

The man laughed mockingly at her. "You think you're funny? Do you know how many millions were killed on those bases?"

"Drop your blaster." Cara said in anger

"As the galaxy cheered?" The man taunted

"Last chance." Cara said

"Destroying your planet was a small price to pay to rid the galaxy of terrorism." The man was quickly cut off as a blaster bolt hit him in the head. Dr Pershing screamed as the man fell to the ground.

Cara turned on her heels and walked away. I could feel the anger and frustration radiating off of her. And I couldn't blame her.

I sighed softly as I rolled the small metal ball between my hands. My mind wandered to the child. I can't bear to think about how he must be feeling, or if they have hurt him in any way. My chest tightened at the thought and I clasped my fingers tightly around the ball. This small object was all Din and I have left of Grogu and the crest.
