Chapter 49

Adidev's POV

" Its really odd"

Abhi who was standing beside me raised his eyebrows questioningly

" I always figured Devu and Megha will be close but I never in my dreams thought I will see those two" I explained pointing towards Anshu and Megha who were having the time of their lives

" Life is all about surprises" we heard Saahil say as he joined us

" Hope my good son stays as he is, No offense, Abhi"

" None taken" he said with a smile

" Why are you behind my poor friend?" We all turned to see Meera glaring at us

" I was just commenting on that odd pairing" I raised my hand in surrender

" What is odd about that. You don't know how much Anshu adores Megha. I even think he has a slight crush on her... his first crush" Meera smiled with excitement

" What!" I heard Abhi screaming ," he is after MY WIFE"

" No one is after your wife. Its a harmless crush. Jeez you guys always make a mountain out of a molehill " a miffed Meera replied

" Wow .... that is the only thing left for us to hear, Bhabhi. We are the innocent party while I personally can vouch that wives sure makes mountain out of a molehill" Saahil came out in our support

" Really, we will see after we reach home" Saahil's eyes widened on hearing Sapna who had just come up behind Meera

"There is no use talking to these guys, Come, Bhabhi" saying this Sapna dragged Meera to join Megha

" What really happened?" Saahil asked in confusion

I just shrugged my shoulder in reply

" Do I need to go there?" We looked at Abhi who was staring intensely at Anshu and Megha

" Why ? Are you jealous of a kid?" Hearing Saahil , I snickered.

" Laugh all you want , when you are in my position then I will see"

" Oh , he has been in that position. Do you remember Adi , when you were jealous of Meera Bhabhi's colleague" Saahil teased me and I just glared at him

Abhi too was smirking at me

" It was not over a kid " I said on my defense

" Jealousy is jealousy " Abhi said in way of explanation

Our bickering was interrupted by the sounds of laughter and we saw our wives enjoying with each other

"One thing is certain, we all are really lucky" Saahil said while looking at Sapna

" I second that" Abhi replied while his eyes were stuck on Megha

" Me too..." I added as I couldn't tear my eyes away from Meera.

Meera's POV

" Deva...."

" Hmmmm...."

" Deva...." I called him again to capture his attention away from the laptop

" What is it , Meera?"

" If you want to work , work.... we will talk later" saying this I walked out into the balcony

From the corner of my eyes, I saw Deva closing the laptop.

I was feeling really happy by his actions

" I am at your service, Mam" saying this he bowed in front of me.

It caused me to laugh out loud . We both were smiling and staring at each other and time stood still for us as we were not able to tear our eyes away from each other.

Deva gently touched and kissed my forehead

" Its late...let's sleep"

" Deva ...." I stopped him in his tracks. Mustering up all my courage, I took the final step to free myself from my fears.

"I know what you have been doing especially the past few months. By your every actions you have been trying to fulfill all the promises that you made to me. But something was missing.I myself was not aware what I was waiting for...."

I touched his temple and stroked the strands of hair

"Today, I got the feeling of true happiness
Today, I experienced the feeling of my husband making me his priority
Today, I felt his loving gaze on me not out of any regret or guilt but just because he loved me
Today, I finally felt like I am his queen."

Both our eyes welled up by the end but I still continued,
" You always had my heart but I had built a wall around it to keep it away from any hurt. Each day your actions were breaking down that wall and it completely tore down today. "

Looking deeply into his eyes , I finally unlocked those words from my heart ,the words which found a voice today.

" I LOVE YOU, DEVA"

The tears which we held back began to flow uncontrollably and I wiped his tears as he wiped mine.

He tenderly started touching my face like he was trying to memorise its each curves and contours to his heart. I stood with bated breath feeling his each touch to my soul.

The moment he reached my lips, he looked deeply into my eyes as if asking for permission. I just closed my eyes in consent but he stopped altogether. Disappointment coursed through me as I felt bereft of his touch.

" Look at me, Meera"

I opened my eyes to his voice. He smiled at the confusion in my eyes

" We are going to travel this path together. I want you....no...I NEED YOU with me in every step of our new journey....Will you be my companion.... FOREVER?"

I could only nod my head. Seeing the effect of his closeness on me, a mischievous  smile broke out on his lips.

" By the by you were looking really beautiful today" he whispered seductively near my ears.

He was so near that his lips were teasing my ears which brought shivers throughout my body

" Are you cold?"

" No" I croaked

He gently took me in his arms and began to caress my arms and back.

We could hear both our heartbeats increasing minute by minute

Not able to take it anymore, I moved back to look at him with all my yearnings in my eyes.

I was not disappointed when I saw the same reflected in his . Slowly he dipped his head and gently touched my lips with his. It was a soft kiss which took no time to turn into a fiery and a passionate one.

The cold breeze outside was no match for the hot storm residing inside the two long waiting souls.
