Adidev's POV
My eyes were stuck on Meera as she sat in the midst of people. She was looking really beautiful not because of the expensive clothes or jewellery but because of the innocent smile on her face.
I now could understand why people say that pregnant woman have a glow as I could see the same on Meera's face.
" Adi.." Mom called me over
" You also sit beside Meera and take the blessings"
Not wanting to miss out on the chance to sit with my beautiful wife, I sat near her with my arms loosely drapped around her waist.
As the day progressed, I noticed Meera becoming more and more fidgety by the second.
" What happened? Are you ok?"
" I am fine but can you get me a glass of water?" She reassured me
" You don't look fine? Wait... I will get the water"
" Aaahhhh...."
I heard Meera scream the moment I turned.
Everyone rushed towards her
" Adi, I think its time. We have to take her to the hospital"
I was shocked at what Mom said
" Bu..t Mom... We have another month to go" I was tensed, confused , scared all at the same moment
" Deva..." I heard Meera scream again and clenching onto my hand tightly
" I don't think so , Adi. Why are you standing like a statue. Let's go" Mom raised her voice to bring me out of my stupor.
" Dont worry about kids... We are here... You people go fast .... Don't waste time" Megha added
Seeing Meera's condition worsening, I picked her in my arms and rushed as fast as I can to the car.
We made it to the hospital in record time.
" Doctor... Doctor..." I called out as soon as we entered
Seeing Meera's state, nurses and doctors rushed her to the delivery room.
By the time the doctor came back with an update, everyone of our family and friends have reached the hospital
" Doctor, How is she?" I asked worriedly
" She is in labor"
" But she is not due for another month"
" Sometimes these things happen. But don't worry for now everything is under control" saying this the doctor went back
We all were tensed and praying for both Meera and the baby.
" Everything will be alright, Adi" Abhi consoled me
"I have got her after a long time, Abhi. I don't want to loose her. I am scared ....I hope God won't punish me for my stupidity by taking her away from me" I shared my innermost fears
" Stop this negative thoughts, Adi" Saahil rebuked me
" Think positively. Nothing will happen to our Meera" Sapna reassured me
" She loves you too much to leave you alone " Megha's these words brought tears to my eyes.
We all sat outside for hours waiting for any news . Then we saw the door open and a nurse coming out.
" How is my wife?"
Looking at my tensed, worried face she said with a smile,
" Your wife is doing good... Little tired but good. You can meet after she is shifted to room and you both have been blessed with a beautiful baby boy"
My face broke out in a beautiful smile and my happiness began to flow uncontrollably from my eyes.
Everyone started congratulating me but my agitated heart could only be calmed once I see my Meera with my own eyes.
Meera's POV
I opened my eyes to the sight of my husband sleeping uncomfortably on the hospital chair. Sensing my movement , he woke up
" You are awake? How are you? I will call the doctor" saying this he rushed out
Soon the doctor came to check upon me.
" Our baby..." I enquired as soon as the doctor left, after making sure I was fine
" He is fine.... He is in NICU for now...."
" He...?".
" Yes...He....It's a boy..." Deva replied smiling
I couldn't stop the tears that welled up
" I want to see him"
" Meera, you just woke up. You are also tired. Doctor have just advised you to take it easy....."
" No, Deva . Please I want to see our baby" I pleaded
" Ok. Let me see what I can do. But for now take rest"
"Mamma..." I heard a whisper
We looked towards the door to see Devu and Anshu standing there in excitement.
" Can we come in" they both asked anxiously
Deva gestured them to come inside. Along with them the whole family was there.
" We thought to see the baby and Meera once , then will leave you to rest" Mom said as she came to my side.
" How are you,Meera?"
" I am good , Mom"
" Have you seen the baby? How is he?" I asked her enthusiastically
" Yes, we saw him from outside and he is so beautiful. He looks like both of you"
Me and Deva just exchanged glances and smiled at Mom's statement
Each one in our family and friends came, after congratulating us and advising me to take rest , they all left but the kids stayed back .
After a while, Deva took me to see the baby.
" Mom is right.He looks just like.... " I trailed off
" ...us" Deva completed
" Anshu has taken after you in looks and behavior while Devu has mine but this little bundle of joy is a mix of us. He has your nose and hair while the shape of his eyes and face is mine" Deva said with a smile
I stared at the baby realizing Deva is right
Devu and Anshu were also excitedly admiring their little brother.
I rested my head on Deva's chest feeling complete on having my world beside me, my Deva and my kids.
