It has been two weeks since the whole fear incident in Lupin's classroom. Most people looked at her differently now but others looked at her the same way as last year. Lila put on a green long sleeve sweater with black shorts and black combat boots. Her long red hair in a bun with her wand inside. She walked to Emersyn and Draco. Both of them in casual clothes, all of them in green.
"Remember! These visits to Hogsmeade Village are a privilege. Should your behavior poorly on the school in any way, that privilege shall not be extended again." McGonagall tells them. "Are you excited for Hogsmeade?" Emersyn asked happily. Lila smiled, nodding. "I am so excited. I can't wait to see everything." Lilac said. Harry approaches her, but before he can utter a syllable. "No permission form. No visiting the Village. That's the rule, Potter." McGonagall told Harry. "Yes, Professor, but I thought if you said I could go-" Harry tried to reason. Lilac watched them talk and sighed. "I take it, my aunt and uncle didn't sign the permission form leaving Harry not allowed going..." Lilac muttered. "But I don't say so. A parent or guardian must sign, and since I am neither, it would be inappropriate... I'm sorry, Potter. But that's my final word." McGonagall explained. Ron and Hermione watched Harry expectantly from across the way, they see him turn, shake his head. Their faces fall, Harry waves his hand in farewell, watching them go.
Harry and Lupin were walking along the bridge, talking to each other while the other students were at Hogsmeade. "Well, don't feel too bad. I was roundly disappointed the first time I went." Lupin says. "Really?" Harry asks. "No. I was just trying to make you feel better. Honeydukes' sweets are the best in the world. Their Pepper Imps are so strong you smoke at the ears. And Zonko's Joke Shop may be dangerous, but you can't beat their Stink Pellets." Lupin ranted.
Harry nodded glumly, "Not to mention The Shrieking Shack, which, according to Hermione and Lilac, is the most severely haunted building in Britain." Harry explains. "Yes, that too..." Lupin says. "Professor, can I ask you something?" Harry questions, he did see Lupin try to step in when the whole Boggart incident happened. "You'd like to know why I tried to stop you from the Boggart before your sister stepped in. I should think it'd be obvious. I assumed the Boggart would take the shape of Lord Voldemort." Lupin explained. Harry frowns as Lupin studies him curiously. "But clearly... I was wrong. It was your sister's that shocked me the most." Lupin told him. "I did think of Voldemort first. But then, I remembered that night on the train... and the Dementors..." Harry stated. "Wait... Why did Lila's shock you the most?" Harry questioned.
"She fears becoming a Death Eater and killing her loved ones..." Lupin told him. "But.. I'm impressed. That suggests that what you fear most of all is fear. Very wise." Lupin said. "Before I fainted... I heard something.. A woman. Screaming." Harry admits, he knew Lilac was the same. "Dementors force us to relive the worst memories of our lives. Our pain becomes their power." Lupin says. "I think it was my mother. The night she was murdered." Harry admits. Harry looks up to find Lupin studying him.
"The first time I saw you, Harry and Lilac, I recognized you immediately. Not by your scars. By your eyes. They're your mother Lily's. Yes, I knew her. She was there for me at the time when no one else was. We used to talk for hours. She was not only a singularly gifted witch but an uncommonly kind woman. She had a way of seeing the beauty in whoever she met, even- and perhaps most especially.. when that person couldn't see it in themselves..." Lupin said, his eyes glazed in memory. "Which perhaps explains her affection for your father. James had, shall we say, a certain talent for trouble. A gift, rumor has it, he passed it on to you." Lupin said, he turns, eyeing Harry affectionately. Harry smiles, vaguely at him. "I could tell you stories, and there are many about your parents, Harry... but know this. They lived. Every moment of every day. You should know that. That's how they'd want to be remembered." Lupin tells him.
The halls buzzed with tales of Hogsmeade, as students swap stories, sample sweets, and send soap bubbles of all shapes, sizes and colors into the air. A marionette of a harlequin cavorts atop the Gryffindor table, moving its limbs in response to the strands of light that extend from Neville's fingertips. Seamus passes his hand through the light beams and the Harlequin collapses. Lilac walked over to Harry and smiled, "I better be your favourite... Since I got you these." Lilac tells him as she hands him the bag of sweets.
"And Honeyduke's is brilliant! Sugar Quills, Flaming Whizbees, and blood-flavored lollipops for Halloween!" Ron said. Harry nods, picking quietly at the sweets on the table and the bag Lilac gave him. Lilac and Hermione quickly noticed. "But, I mean, after awhile, it got a bit boring. Don't you think, Ron?" Hermione stated. "Huh? Oh. Yeah. Dead depressing. Hang on. I almost forgot. I got you something wicked at Dervish and Banges. It's a pocket Sneakoscope." Ron says.
Ron places a small glass spinning top on the table. "If there's someone untrustworthy around, it's meant to light up and spin. Mind you, Fred and George say it's rubbish, sold for wizard tourists, but I thought, you know, it can't hurt, given that..." Ron said. "Sirius Black's trying to kill me... well, us." Harry states. Harry looks up and grins at the three of them. "I'm glad you had a good time. Really. And thanks for this. Rubbish or not, you're right. It can't hurt." Harry says. Harry then pops a Pepper Imp into his mouth. "Careful with those, they'll make your.." Lila warned but on cue, smoke curls from Harry's ears and nose.
"Nevermind." Lilac giggles.
