wasted

--------------------

Liam's brain has been tongue-tied all week long, he didn't wanna prolong his and Scarlett's distant relationship anymore.

Liam had been feeling uneasy all day, but he couldn't put his finger on the exact reason why. He went about his usual routine, trying to shake off this strange sensation, but it remained a persistent feeling at the back of his mind.

Finally, as night fell, Liam decided to distract himself by paying Scarlett a surprise visit. He made his way over to her house, eager to see her and spend some time together.

As he entered the house, he heard voices coming from the living room and immediately recognized Scarlett's voice. However, it was not the only voice he heard. There was another voice, a man's voice, and Liam knew immediately who it belonged to.

Colin, Scarlett's co-worker at SNL.

Liam felt anger rising within him as he approached the living room. When he entered, he saw that his suspicions were true. Scarlett and Colin were sitting close to each other on the couch, chatting and laughing as if Liam's presence didn't bother them.

"What the hell is going on??" Liam said, his voice low and tight with rage.

Scarlett turned to him, a look of surprise flashing across her face, but quickly attempted to play it cool, "Oh hey Liam, what brings you here?"

"What brings me here? You know what brings me here!" Liam exclaimed, gesturing towards Colin with anger in his eyes.

Scarlett rolled her eyes, "Colin is just a friend, Liam. You know that."

"A friend? How can you be so naive? You know exactly how I feel about him!" Liam spat out.

Scarlett looked at Liam with a mixture of sadness and frustration in her eyes, "Liam, you need to trust me. Colin is just a friend and nothing more. You are blowing things out of proportion."

"Out of proportion? That's what you think? How can you possibly confirm that he's just a friend when you barely spend time with your boyfriend, and spends it with him instead?" Liam called it out.

"Because it's not just you that i'm obliged to see. We both have personal lives, and i recommend you consider mine."

"I already have. Every single day." He spoke softly, gazing into the madness in her emerald eyes.

"Then you shouldn't have come here." She spoke, with pure irritation in her eyes.

"Why? Because you don't wanna get caught riding your high with this guy?" Liam chuckled dryly.

"You know, i have finally come up with a conclusion that i shouldn't have wasted my time chasing your tail."

"Then don't. Nobody wouldn't even dare to." She stepped closer to him as he stepped back. "Don't."

There was a moment of silence between the two. Rage and anger fills the air. The tension gets deeper every second that they waste.

"I need you to leave. Not later, but now." Scarlett finally spoke.

Liam couldn't believe what he was hearing. He felt betrayed by Scarlett and angry at himself for being so foolish to trust her. Without another word, he stormed out of her house, slamming the door behind him.

Making his way to Lizzie's place, Liam simply needed to vent his frustrations to someone he could trust. Lizzie welcomed him with open arms and listened as he vented his anger and sadness.

"Hey, are you alright? Do you need anything? Water?" Lizzie asked Liam as he felt an urge of gratitude towards her.

"Cold water would be pleased, thank you."

Lizzie came back with a glass of cold water, handing it over to Liam. "What happened?" Liam told her everything, considering his own opinions and thoughts about it.

As they talked, Liam felt an urge of luck mingling within him. Lizzie had always been a person to hold onto in difficult situations.

As the night wore on, Liam felt a sense of relief and clarity. Feeling an urge of gratitude towards Lizzie.

Lizzie was happy to see Liam and insisted on cooking him dinner. They spent the evening catching up on old times while enjoying Lizzie's delicious homemade meal. Liam had forgotten how much he enjoyed Lizzie's company; he felt at peace.

After dinner, they sat in the living room, watching TV together. As the night grew darker, Liam started to feel sleepy and knew he needed to rest. Lizzie showed him to the guest room, tucked him in, and wished him goodnight.

Liam drifted off to sleep immediately, feeling grateful for Lizzie's kindness and warmth. The next morning, he woke up feeling refreshed and energized. He made his way to the kitchen where Lizzie was having breakfast. Her smile and chirpy voice made Liam realize just how much he had missed her in his life.

The two sat down and chatted over coffee, and Liam couldn't help but feel grateful for the chance to reconnect with his old friend. He shared his situation with her, and they discussed his relationship issues. Lizzie was a great listener and gave him some great advice, which he took to heart.

As the day progressed, Liam and Lizzie spent the afternoon exploring the city and catching up on life events. It was an enjoyable experience, and Liam realized he might have never taken this opportunity to explore this side of the city if it wasn't for Lizzie's company.

When they returned to the house in the evening, Liam sat down with Lizzie, feeling more relaxed than he had in a long time. He realized that the break was doing him good, and he would have never made it through without her. Lizzie was the ray of light he needed in his life.

The next day, Liam was feeling much better. He knew he had to face Scarlett and talk about their relationship. But before he left Lizzie's place, he thanked her for everything she had done for him. He even promised to visit her again soon.

But who knows what there is to wait for in the future. Time can't always be a friend of one, it may even rebel.
