love is gone

---

Lizzie was exhausted from working all night. Her head ached and her eyes felt heavy and puffy. Her back was sore,
which each step sent a pain up her spine. All she wanted was to cuddle with Liam, so that was where she was headed.

To Liam's apartment since he doesn't stay over at her place when she isn't there. She used her own key to let herself in, expecting to see Liam either on the sofa in his boxers or in the kitchen making breakfast.

It wasn't until she saw clothes strewn
across the floor, leading to the bedroom. Liam's clothes and a woman's. She didn't recognise the attire so she knew it wasn't
Someone she knew. She took a deep breath before she reached the bedroom.

Opening the door slowly. Her heart shattering at the sight of a naked Liam spooning a very naked woman. She slammed the door as her breaths started
to increase.

"What was that?" Lexi questioned as the two jolted awake at the sound.

"I don't know." Liam answered as he stood up. Leaving the bed and grabbing a pair of joggers. He was shocked when
he saw Lizzie sat on the sofa.

"Lizzie?"

"Why?" Lizzie spoke in a monotone voice. "Why ruin what we have for a fling?"

She stood up as she gestured to the bedroom.

"I'm sorry." Was all that Liam could say. He felt extremely guilty about the situation right now.

"Get her out of here because I want to have a proper conversation with you." Lizzie ordered him. He just nodded
before walking back inside his
room.

"You have to go." Liam said as he got her some of his clothes since most of her's is on the floor in the living room. He didn't say anything else to her as he ushered her out of his apartment before turning back to face the music.

"Why would you do this?" Lizzie whispered. Liam could see how heart broken she is. "I really fell for you and you said I was the one. Even when you
were with Scarlett."

"I don't know why I did it Lizzie." He stepped towards her."Don't!" she growled as she stepped away.

Putting her hands up before her. "I want to know what made you do it?""l guess I was lonely. Last night you weren't there and then the alcohol." He started before she cut him off.

"Don't give me some half
assed excuse that you have most likely used a hundred times." Lizzie told him. "We were good. Amazing actually
and then you do this. Why?"

"l guess l just." He sighed as he looked in her eyes. His own heart crumbling. "You deserve better than me Lizzie. I am only going to bring you down. Look l've already broke your heart and I don't expect you to forgive me because I don't
deserve it. I don't deserve you."

Lizzie stood there and watched as he stepped away from her. She respected him for his words, and the way he didn't
try to argue the situation. He was calm which was unusual for him.

"I don't think I could ever trust you
again." She whispered as she let her tears fall down her face. "l just can't. I'm sorry."

"Don't apologise." He said as he was quick to cup her cheeks. Wiping her tears away.

"I don't deserve your sorries." He looked in her eyes. "you deserve to be happy Elizabeth. Find someone who will treat
you like the queen you are."

"I thought that was you." She whispered sadly as he gave her a sad smile.

"So did I but i have screwed up every chance we have ever had, " He told her before he kissed her head. "I'm so
Sorry."

"so it's done." She said as he stepped away. "we're done." With that final sentence, Lizzie ran away to her car. Not
wanting to be near Liam again. Her heart couldn't take it. As soon as she arrived at home, she cried and cried as she hit the steering wheel. Hating this
feeling which had made he
chest a home.
