The next day, I collect the mail and as I go through it, I see one addressed to me which surprises me because I don't know anyone and it's addressed to Mr H Potter, The Cupboard under the Stairs.

Hollie comes down the stairs.

"What's that?" she asks so I hand her the letter, revealing another one the same addressed to her.

We look at each other.

"Leave the rest of the mail there, bring yours upstairs."

I follow her upstairs and we sit on the bed.

"Open yours first."

I open my letter, unfold it up and read it aloud.

"Dear Mr Potter, we are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.  Students shall be required to report to the Chamber of Reception upon arrival, the date for which shall be duly advised.  Please ensure that the utmost attention be made to the list of requirements attached herewith.  We very much look forward to receiving you as part of the new generation of Hogwarts' heritage.  Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandos Professor McGonagall."

I look at Hollie so she opens hers and reads it to herself.

"It says the same except with my name."

"What's this?" we hear a male voice and find Uncle Vernon standing in the doorway.

He comes over and snatches the letters from us along with the envelopes and other contents from both of us before having a look.

"You two are going nowhere," he says before an almighty crash is heard downstairs.

"Stay here, both of you," Uncle Vernon orders before he leaves.

"I demand that you leave at once," we hear Uncle Vernon order.  "You are breaking and entering."

"Dry up, Dursley, you great prune," we hear another male voice and then... "Harry Potter, Hollie Potter!"

We look at each other.

"It's time to leave!" the other man says so we slowly go to the top of the stairs.

"Wow, you don't half look like your parents," the giant man says.  "Come now."

As we near the bottom of the stairs, Uncle Vernon stands in our way.

"They will not be going!" he protests.  "We swore we'd put a stop to all this rubbish."

"What's going on?" Hollie asks.

"You are wizards," the giant says.  "Well, more to the point, Harry is a wizard and you're a witch."

"There's no such thing as magic," Uncle Vernon says.

"You knew?" I ask.  "You knew all along and you never told us?"

"Of course we knew," Aunt Petunia begins.  "How could you not be? My perfect sister being who she was.  My mother and father were so proud the day she got her letter.  We have a witch in the family.  Isn't it wonderful? I was the only one to see her for what she was... a freak! Then she met that Potter, and she had that child – a perfect little angel with the blondest curls, the prettiest blue eyes."

Okay, she can't be talking about Hollie, she's got blonde hair and blue eyes but it was never curly.

"Emberlee was the perfect child but wasn't enough for your mother and father, they wanted another baby but they had you three.  Poor Emberlee was pushed aside, and I knew you would be the same as him, as your father... just as strange, just as abnormal."
